1. Other
The power and control of the corporations over our elected officials is the most important thing we could talk about.
And then perhaps we could make a plan to do something about it and save our democracy.

you can talk till your blue in the face about health care but until the congress starts acting on our behalf nothing will be done that will benefit us.

5. I believe we can use the health care reform issue as an emotional lever
to lift the overriding issue of corporate domination of the Peoples' government.

Solidarity used labor grievance to effect massive social change far beyond their immediate sphere of influence.

8. I hope so
But it will have to be without the help of the media and you will have to get all the factions of the left to do it in an organized manner.
Right now all we are doing is bitching and complaining and seem content to go after our own personal interests, to try to get something out of it instead of looking for fundamental change that will make it all possible.

I sometimes wonder whether organizations like Move On and UPJ and other liberal orgs are not interested in changing the fundamentals...perhaps it is profitable for them the way things are.

6. I believe Iran to be a critical issue as well, thanks for bringing it up.

There are others of which I didn't list as well, Global Warming Climate Change, Israel/Palestine, North Korea, the economy, Pakistan.

With the exception of North Korea, in many of those issues, I see corporate domination over the American Peoples' government as a major adverse contributing factor.

The same forces wishing to dominate the world, science, the environment, medicine and journalism for the sole purpose of profit also have desires on dominating the American People.
