Change-Congress emails news of campaign targeting Landrieu (who opposes public option)

Thanks to hundreds of Change Congress members chipping in, we just launched a new campaign targeting Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA).

As you likely know, Landrieu recently announced that she opposes a public health insurance option. She's also taken over $1.6 million from the big health and insurance interests that fear competition and are fighting tooth-and-nail against this plan.

We wanted to pass along this note we received from Mike Stagg, a member of the Lafayette Parish Democratic Executive Committee in Louisiana:

I just want to say that Change Congress's pressure campaign is right on the money. It's already making big waves locally.

Within hours, news stories about your online ad campaign were on the front of the Baton Rouge Advocate, New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Lafayette Advertiser, the Alexandria Town Talk, WJBO news radio in Baton Rouge, a local NBC affiliate, and a local CBS affiliate. That doesn't happen often! It's a remarkable campaign and Sen. Landrieu has got to be scared.

She's being forced to choose between her special-interest contributors and her constituents. This is accountability and democracy at its finest. Keep it coming!

We've received many notes like this, and we'll keep you posted as this campaign develops.

As the Huffington Post reported, we'll be escalating this campaign if Landrieu doesn't change her position quickly and oppose her special-interest contributors.
