3. Was it the staffer that forced this out into the open?
Or did he do it voluntarily out of "guilt".

8. It must've been that he was forced. If he didn't give her money, she was
gonna sing like a bird.

11. I figured the "guilt" thing was a long shot
especially for a *family values* politician.

17. SHE must've made him do it. The staffer wanted him to give her money to keep her quiet.
If he hadn't confessed, she would've come out with her OWN press conference (my guess).

Voting will be in 2 years and a half, so he probably hopes that people will have forgotten it then (not a bad idea given the attention span these days). Anyway, if he only cheated once, he will look clean compared to the usual Republican like Gingritch.

doubt his opponents will let the people forget about it.

26. I'll bet he and his wife pray together to heal their wounded hearts and be forgiven...
See that's what Republicans "say" they do after an affair and.... whooops all is forgiven, they're only human after all. Now if Dem does it, he's just an immoral slimebag, fuckmonkey who can't keep it in his pants and they'd be be impeaching him or demanding his resignation.

27. TPM reports Ensign was a long time member of 'Promise Keepers.'
Turns out that Sen. Ensign (R) is a longtime member of "Promise Keepers."
