3. I think that this is the beginning of the end for the Ayatollah. He is being openly
challenged by the young and by the moderates. It started with Rafsanjani 4 years ago and now Mousavi has amassed much popularity due to the unhappiness with the religious repression. The young have grown up with Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter and have seen the good things that the Western world can give you. No longer can they demonize the West nor the American President because Obama has reached to the Middle East and given hope to the young Iranian people for a better future. Yes, I think that this election (remember, the Ayatollah hand-picked all the Presidential candidates) has been the vehicle to show the Mullahs how out of touch they are with their country and this has sent a shockwave to their system. They opened the bottle and now they cannot put the genie back. It is over for the Islamic Republic of Iran, it is only a matter of time until we see their collective collapse.
