1. It's interesting that THE clue in Iran was the opposition's losing their home districts BIG,
yet Tennessee actually voted against Gore...

4. The Iranians might be more committed to democracy than we are -- they rioted.
I sometimes wonder why we didn't riot when the SCOTUS "declared" our election for us.

17. How does rioting prove anything?
How do you know that rioting would have been more effective? I'm not advocating that nothing should have been done, just not convinced that rioting in the streets would have been effective means of voter reform in AMERICA.

5. That's why this hurts so much to watch.
It SUCKS having elections stolen. I don't want most Iranians going through years of hell under another illegitimate fool. Been there, done that, and can deeply empathize. At least they aren't sitting on their asses like 99.99999% of Americans did.

9. And we are apathetic fools. They are willing to die for their convictions!! You are ignorant if you
can't empathize with people around the globe fighting for their vote to count. Go back to safely typing on your computer ignorant comments, while others take to the street and suffer death and persecution for their beliefs.

maybe you could at least shed tears for their sacrifice. We just post on DU eventhough there is no serious threat of government violence.

14. Bullshit.
Edited on Mon Jun-15-09 10:12 AM by Bicoastal
Imagine if McCain "won" in 2008, and not just won, but won by the biggest landslide in US history.

Imagine if the "official results" showed that he won Illinois by 58%, and Hawaii by almost that much. Imagine that Obama "lost" every major city, even liberal bastions like San Francisco and Boston.

And imagine if, according to the state-run news, black voters voted for McCain in droves.

We've been through some challenging times, true, but let's not be so jaded that we can compare hanging chads in Florida and Diebold computers in Ohio to the MASSIVE fraud perpetrated by the incumbent Iranian government.

their own beliefs. Change the kitty litter Catwoman, you are starting to stink!

21. Let the CTers dream.
According to them, some shadow government from a secret room decided the 2000 and 2004 elections. Hmm... Sounds like the psychotic rantings of Alex Jones.

24. The comparison is so lame isn't it?
Our problem was with our Supreme Court and our spineless politicians who accepted their illegal decision.

We are all very fortunate to live in this nation and have the justice system we have. Even at our worst (save the torture BS) we're still a lot better off than most of the world.

22. WTF???? You're kind of being an idiot about this.
You can say what you will, but ours wasn't as brazenly decided by fraud, was it?

Also, if you felt so strongly...why weren't you and millions upon millions around the country marching like these Iranians.

your armchair "take" on this is duly noted.
