Let's admit it! The FIRST ATTEMPT at universal health care will.....
be defeated........we need more deaths, we need more bankruptcies.......we need more Americans to suffer and lose out.

Let's be sure any attempt to introduce a bill that denies Americans equal health care to Congressmen ALSO DENIES any further care for Congress, let them fine a health care policy on the open free market for their family.......something they will pay for as citizens of America.

Like these "citizens" will EVER suffer or be without a way to live a healthful life

1. Good luck finding a congressperson to introduce that bill.
And several more to vote for it.

3. If that happens it will impact those people who need it most, the sick.
Why don't we have any common sense in our leadership? You know the French leaders managed to get the insurance companies to cooperate with them when they instituted their single payer program by letting them handle the bureaucracy. It's the way our Medicare does it too. Then they convinced the insurers that they would make more money with less liability by selling insurance for what their basic government plan didn't cover like extras, for instance a private hospital room or private nurse. Things like that, but they aren't allowed to offer to cover any care that the basic government insurance covers. Every one walked away happy and the basic right to quality health care access for everyone was preserved. What's wrong with our leadership that they can't barter?

4. I think you're right. But it really shouldn't be that way.
This country isn't split in half on health care. And it's not split in half in Congress. The majority of citizens want health care with a public option. We have a sizable majority in Congress.

So the result really shouldn't be split.

This whole thing is pissing me off. When the Rethugs were in charge they got everything they wanted. Even the Dems were too mealy-mouthed to speak out against their harmful policies. They voted with the Rethugs so they could look bipartisan. And the Rethugs spit on them every time.

Now the Dems are in charge... and the Rethugs are STILL getting their way?!? We got an ineffective stimulus package because we were trying to mollify the Rethugs, and they still didn't vote for it. Now the same thing is gonna happen with health care. WTF?!

This will be the second time Democrats fucked up healthcare unassisted.

(And really, what kind of fucking idiots would give them a third chance?)

8. True. We've been on this merry-go-round before
We get spun around in a circle and then when it's over we're dropped off again at almost the exact place where we started.

9. The only problem with that is, at LEAST half of Congresspeople
are millionaires—a few of them several hundred times over—and many more are extremely "comfortable". Most of them could easily afford their own healthcare. Sure, they'd grumble about it, the way most rich people grumble at the notion that they should have to pay for anything they're used to getting for free—but in the end they'd pony up, because paying for their own healthcare out of pocket, while still staying on the insurance industry's payroll, is still a net plus for them.

10. The first attempt was under Truman.
And it opened the window a tiny bit.

The kill for profit insurance/Pharma crowd have fought dirty since the 50's.

We need to throw a brick through the window.

13. The time is NOW for single payer. How much worse do thing have to get?
People are experiencing record bankruptcies, losing their homes, losing their jobs. Health care costs are beyond the costs of working class and middle class famlies who have to pay for these costs themselves. Many businesses can no longer afford these spiraling costs either.

NOW is the time. The Democrats have EVERYTHING, the White House, the Senate, the Congress. NOW is the time. Our time has come.

16. NO!! We DON'T need MORE deaths! We need to STOP allowing the Repukes
and the M$M define the terms of this debate.

Where are our progressive Democrats? Why aren't they out there on the cable networks touting the fact that indeed MOST Americans support a single-payer system?

Why aren't they fighting against the rhetoric that single-payer = "socialism"?

Obama needs to do a better job. All I see is him caving to the Repukes and Max Baucus!!
