Bill O'Reilly goes Ballistic when Joan Walsh Screams at Him: "You have blood in your hands"
Edited on Fri Jun-12-09 11:21 PM by SuperTrouper
Incredible the exchange between Joan Walsh and Bill the Clown O'Reilly. Bill had her on his show to yell at her, call her a "lunatic" and talk over her telling her that "you think that late fetuses have no rights". Joan Walsh very calmly told him that "Dr. Tiller had a legal practice and he was a hero to her and many women in Kansas and America" Furthermore, she told him (talking over him) "You have blood on your hands. You are a vigilante. You are also responsible for the violence against Dr. Tiller and what that nut did in Knoxville last year". O'Reilly was out of control, visibly upset and unhinged whereas Walsh kept on talking over him "are you going to let me say anything or should I continue talking over you" LOL!!! She kept her grace under O'Reilly's unhinged attack and repelled his insults and his accusations "it is legal what the doctor did, Bill, my friend, it was legal"

I wish someone had a video of Bill O'Reilly's lunatic tantrum tonight. Bravo Joan!

51. Paul McHugh....
Edited on Sun Jun-14-09 02:11 PM by PassingFair
The VATICAN'S advisor on "sexuality".

Bill'o failed to mention that his
retired "expert" is hyper catholic.

http://ai.eecs.umich.edu/people/conway/TS/Legal%20Issues/Taxes/IRS%20SRS%20Rulings.html

snip>"Whether gender reassignment surgery is a treatment for an illness or disease is controversial. For instance, Johns Hopkins Hospital has closed its gender reassignment clinic and ceased performing these operations. See, Surgical Sex, Dr. Paul McHugh, 2004 First Things 147 (November 2004) 34-38. In light of the Congressional emphasis on denying a deduction for procedures relating to appearance in all but a few circumstances and the controversy surrounding whether GRS is a treatment for an illness or disease, the materials submitted do not support a deduction. Only an unequivocal expression of Congressional intent that expenses of this type qualify under section 213 would justify the allowance of the deduction in this case. Otherwise, it would seem we would be moving beyond the generally accepted boundaries that define this type of deduction." <1, p.5>

In that citation the IRS refers to the closing of a gender clinic at Johns Hopkins, never mentioning that the closing happened decades ago (in 1979) and is "ancient history" in medicine long bypassed by later events. Nor does the citation mention that the clinic closing was the result of an internal political vendetta against the clinic by the very same Paul McHugh now cited.

Paul McHugh is an influential conservative Catholic ideologue who for some odd reason has been on a lifelong rampage to "stop sex changes" <4>. This transphobic psychiatrist (then advisor to the Vatican on sexual matters) convinced the Vatican in 2000 to declare that transsexualism "doesn't exist" and is a mental pathology instead <5>. McHugh is now positioned to similarly influence the Executive Branch, as a member of the President's Council for Bioethics <6>.

In the First Times article McHugh ruthlessly caricatures transsexual women in a manner reminiscent of school-yard bullies instead of the "famous scientist" he claims to be. He mocks and ridicules the women in the grossest of ways, in writing clearly designed to hurt, defame, stigmatize and ostracize:

"...The post-surgical subjects struck me as caricatures of women. They wore high heels, copious makeup, and flamboyant clothing; they spoke about how they found themselves able to give vent to their natural inclinations for peace, domesticity, and gentleness—but their large hands, prominent Adam’s apples, and thick facial features were incongruous (and would become more so as they aged)...." <3> <unsnip

Too bad Joan Walsh didn't seem to know his background.

52. I would guess a good percentage of late term abortions involve fetuses
determined to be comp'd someway...as in deformed, hydrocephalic, etc.

Are the Pubs desiring these fetuses go full term? and who takes care of challenged baby to adult??

Some mothers would do it...others prefer the option of termination...

The Pubs wish to deny the option for those mothers who wish the choice...That is cruel and insensitive to the Parents/Gov't....

Many times challenged babies must be brought up in institutions at taxpayers expense...

In these times of OverPopulation...the practice of allowing challenged fetuses to go full term is INSANE....

What are they thinking?

They like to use single issue cards as a means of lowering the dialog...

They wish to divide us....its a friggen ploy.

especially Marc-Andre Fleury with those two point-blank saves with only 2-3 seconds left. The third period was fantastic, i thought I was having a heart attack. Thank you Wings and Pens, hopefully my beloved Islanders make it next year... :(

She stayed true to her calm demeanor. I could see she was frustrated by his escalating belligerence and wild accusations. But she was able to say what she needed to get across and that was an achievement. That in itself seemed to drive him nuts. Good for Joan.

If that other woman had been stupid enough to succumb to his clumsy come-on and had gotten pregnant, O'Reilly would have driven her to Dr. Tiller's clinic HIMSELF. I have no doubt.

22. Walsh is getting hit hard at her Salon.com home.
People are telling her what she should have known all along. You don't try to argue with Bill O'Reilly. You can't have a conversation with a shameless bastard. Very simply, nobody should go on his show. And everyone who does should be told what an idiot or suck-up they are.

She's getting hundreds of "I Told You So" or "How Stupid Are You?" posts at Salon. Oh, and of course, a scattering of Freepers telling her how she should have laid down and let O'Reilly jump all over her with hobnailed boots.

42. Because millions watch and we should never shrink from taking the argument to them on their turf
There are many people here on DU and KOs and other places that were once Republicans and Right Wingers. At some point, something made them change their minds. If we do not expose them to other ideas as often as possible, we are missing an opportunity. If they go on Fox and only hear one side because no Democrats will go on, we have no chance to reach them.

We need a cadre of Democrats willing to go on Fox and debate anyone of them at anytime on any issue.

It showed Bill in all his pompous, bombastic, inciteful glory. Work yourself up into a froth, use inflammatory and threatening words that most definitely work others up into a froth, and then hide behind your right to say them when the inevitable happens.

46. We already knew this. Did his regular audience learn anything?
They saw him outraged at a liberal. They saw him getting to yell at someone whose politics he regularly and continuously vilifies. He expressed what is, for his base, righteous anger.

Against that solid confirmation, Walsh accomplished nothing. She didn't change the minds of any viewers of O'Reilly. She confirmed him. She aided him.

35. O'Reilly..................

Called her a left-wing lunatic, and said she had blood on her hands.

Ummmmmmmmmmm, huh?

She is not the guy with the #1 cable news show who said he was a baby killer that would kill a baby for any reason if you pay him $5,000.

She is not the guy with the #1 cable news show who said Dr. Tiller had blood on his hands.

She is not the guy with the #1 cable news show who called him Tiller The Baby Killer at least 28 times in 4 years.

She is not the guy with the #1 cable news show who said he hopes to be around when Tiller The Baby Killer has his judgement day.

She is not the guy with the #1 cable news show who said Tiller was breaking the law, and predicted he would be found guilty. Then the jury found him innocent on all 19 charges, and did it in an hour.

It was the most insane thing O'Reilly has ever said, when Joan Walsh nailed him for his years of hate speech against Dr. Tiller, Billy flipped out, and his great comeback was, you have blood on your hands, lol. She pointed out what he was doing is legal, and that he was found innocent of all 19 charges. And that never slowed Billy down at all, he just screamed and yelled even more.

The whole thing was pathetic, and O'Reilly should be embarrassed to even call himself a journalist.
