Contessa Brewer Slams Neo-Con Apologist John Ziegler
Edited on Wed Jun-10-09 10:32 AM by SuperTrouper
LMAO! She is pissed and chastised Ziegler's filibustering defending Sarah Palin while he is accusing MSNBC of being Obama's network. She was trying to interview him about the Palin-David Letterman food fight when Letterman called Palin "slutty" and "A. Rod just knocked up Palin's daughter during the 7th inning stretch" Contessa is accusing him of being "Palin's spokesman" and asking softball questions to Palin. Ziegler is such a jerk and looked like an ass on TV and Contessa just took him to task for insulting her and attacking MSNBC while she was trying "to be decent and respectful and showing him common sense". You go Contessa!! She pretty much called him a loser!

last election for having the most accurate data. This right wing douche did a phone interview with him and cursed him out, called him a left wing hack. Then Silver posted the audio on his website it was pretty funny.

5. I did not follow the whoe exchange, but I agree with Palin attacking Letterman
for calling her "slutty." And I don't know why Contessa should accept it. She, and us, should not accept having the B and C words, as well as slutty hurled at women public figure. There are plenty of ways to attack Palin, as there are of any public figure without resorting to terms that are, well, uniquely female insults.

9. I don't think Contessa
was trying to defend Letterman, she was trying to question the guy on why would Palin
take a satire personal, basically take a comic's joke as an attack on her.

This douchebag being a douchebag was having none of her patience or her trying to be nice
to him.

The rest I guess are fair game and can be called any name under the sun. I abhor Palin's politics, but she still should be respected and the comments about her daughter and calling her clothing "slutty" were out of line. Aside from being offensive to flight attendants too.

17. Exactly!!!
I hated when they trashed a 12 year old Chelsea. I have abstained from criticizing any politician's child. I just find it hypocritical when women's groups and so called liberals only speak up for women with whom they agree politically.

It is not right to call a governor "slutty" nor imply that her child was "knocked off" at some baseball game.

41. Which Yankee game did Bristol Palin attend with her mom?
Letterman's quote from last night, after Palin attended the Yankee game with her 14 year old daughter Willow:

"One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game, during the seventh inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."

In Letterman's defense, I'm sure he didn't write the joke. He's simply not that funny. Never has been, never will be. Without network writers he'd have been an afterthought long before he got the Late Night gig.

42. The joke was aimed at the (ironically) abstinence-promoting Bristol.
Bristol was by far the Palin child with the most press coverage and the only one who had a child herself. Clearly, the joke was not aimed at 14 y/o Willow, who few people have even heard of at length.

43. I'd buy that if Bristol Palin had been at last nights Yankee game.
Since she wasn't, and Letterman stated that "her daughter" got knocked up in the "seventh inning" by A-Rod, I don't believe it for a moment. I bet as soon as Letterman read it off of his teleprompter he knew he'd be in the shit.

Like I said before, I'm sure he didn't write it. He only read it.

45. Yeah because not many people remember the little girl who was caught on
camera holding her little brother and smoothing his hair with her own saliva.

If I remember correctly, that was right about the time people started saying Palin was using her kids as props, which I tended to agree with.

The bottom line is that Letterman's not funny and whichever writer put that joke on his teleprompter did it in bad taste.

She tried to interview this guy John Ziegler about David Letterman putting Sarah Palin on his top 10 list. He kept interupting her by slamming MSNBC saying it was Obama"s official network. She tried to ignore all the nonsense he kept spewing about MSNBC while he was rolling his eyes and making childish faces while she was asking him serious questions. He kept smarting off to her with every question she asked and she finally ended the interview and thanked him. He made another stupid remark about the network and she said "Cut the Mike". You could tell she was disgusted and I didn't blame her, what an ass he is. Who is this DickHead I live in Wheeling WV and I never heard of him?

Would we think it's so funny if the exact same "jokes" were about Chelsea or some day the Obama girls? I think not.

52. Agreed. When someone makes an offensive joke about the Obama girls,
we will all be justifiably outraged, as when Chelsea Clinton's looks were the subject of bad jokes. It will happen at some point. So, it should not be tolerated simply because we may not like or agree with the child's parent. The kids are off-limits!

The title of the video is kind of funny: "John Ziegler Destroys Contessa Brewer About The Letterman/Palin Controversy". I guess its all in the eye of the beholder.

Never thought I'd give Contessa Brewer a thumbs up, but she handled that very well and Ziegler was totally obnoxious and rude. Guess he won't be on MSNBC again for a long time.

30. There was no "rape" involved in the joke.
"One awkward moment... during the seventh inning her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."

{First clip I found... the title is apparently from the blog that posted it... I think it's a very poorly worded title, personally}

Listen to the clip. "knocked up" is not synonymous with rape. It's a term for getting someone pregnant. Consensually, accidentally, on purpose... whatever. Given Bristol's history I'd guess it's a joke about the "family traditions"... I don't bother to follow sports, but there's probably some history of Alex Rodriguez that makes the joke even funnier if you know about it... (is he the one who was running around with Madonna?) And then there's always the mere fact that he's Dominican... the idea of Palin's daughter with a Latino probably makes some RW heads explode.

33. There are 14 year olds having sex right now that would disagree.
And, while we're at it, you do realize that it never happened, right?
It was a joke. If you thought it was in poor taste... fine... but there was no rape. In a joke the legal ramifications of statutory rape laws are suspended until you are done laughing. Afterward, you are free to decide that the joke was "fucked up". If you are truly open minded, you are able to like the joke, even though it is "fucked up".

Feel free to hate the joke... but trying to assert that it's a joke about rape is an absurd stretch.
