we see it in most every piece of legislation passed- or not passed- or watered down to the point of ineffectiveness.

I've never seen a definitive list of what is a Democratic or Republican policy - just progressive lists of what they don't like.

24. I thought he meant folks like Lieberman and the DEMS who identified with him.
Edited on Tue Jun-02-09 06:32 PM by Dr Fate
Or maybe even some of the "Blue Dogs" who oppose Obama on domestic issues and continue to side with the far right.

Nader, for all of his flaws, never supported any GOP/Bush policies that I know of- but a lot of "centrist" DEMS certainly do/did.

Some "centrist" DEMS even supported Lieberman's pro-Bush, 3rd party run, in fact! 'Member that?

I don't know where Lieberman and his Conservative, 3rd party supporting ilk sit in this "choir", but hopefully it is very far away from me. I think his voice sounds like shit. I'd hate for people to think that stuff was coming from me...

In any event, anyone who claims that certain DEMS supported Bush is correct, unfortunately. Anyone who prefers to attack "Naderite" strawmen as opposed to acknowledging this fact is probably hiding the ball.

Just because I support the President and reserve the right to write to him about whatever I disagree with doesn't make me a friggin member of "the choir".

That's a real flouncy way to state your disagreement on the military procedures.

30. Of course we heard him.
But what choice did have have. We only get two. Vote for Obama even though we wanted out of both Iraq and Afghanistan or vote for McCain.

I've been protesting against both wars since the start of each. Why would I stop now simply because there is a Democrat in office?

I can imagine the absolutely disgusting nasty things that anti-war folks would have been called if they had voted for a 3rd party anti-war candidate and tipped the election to McCain.

33. Yes, there would have been a lynch mob for sure and I'd
be getting my passport and dual citizenship papers in order. Nevertheless, many of us didn't vote for Obama as the lesser of two evils. I'm not by any means a war monger but do agree that Afghanistan is where we should have been in the first place and if dickhead and is ilk weren't so corrupt, thousands of lives would have been spared and OBL would have been tried, sentenced and hung by now.

21. I Was A High Soprano In High School! They Called It Singing, But there
were times those notes actually hurt, and FWIW I'm not sure they sounded all the good! But that's what I was "told" to do!

I've grown up now, and I've decided to sing my own songs! I'm confused, disgusted, disappointed, angered and more stuff!! There are too many words, so I figured I'd keep it short!

French Open is interesting this year so far! Only ONE of the top men are still standing!!! I don't have a dog in THAT fight, so since I LOVE tennis I guess it's better entertainment!

Still I have this strange addiction to politics, but I'm trying so very hard to "kick" it!! It's so OUT OF WHACK and I don't know up from down anymore! Who's on what side or not! I do feel I'm getting the butt end of the JOKE though!

22. For me, it depends on the song and which choir member wrote it.
Edited on Tue Jun-02-09 06:34 PM by Dr Fate
If someone from the previous choir is involved, count me out.

If it involves choir leader who sang shitty Bush tunes and wants to keep on singing them, count me out of that nuumber as well.

But yeah, you can find me and my golden tonsels up on the choir stand on most days.

Edited on Tue Jun-02-09 06:30 PM by JuniperLea
I sing his praises when warranted, and the blues when he fucks up. The problem with DU is that too many are tone deaf... they hear singing, but they don't get the difference between opera and the blues.

Edited to say sometimes the blues get me so down I can sing a full on contralto! ugh.

we do, we really do! :) I sang tenor, but I don't read sheet music, so I need to really believe in the lyrics before I sing it well.
