Did Tweety just get Burris to convict himself on national television?
Edited on Wed May-27-09 04:15 PM by vaberella
Cause let me say...I don't know Burris is saying and Tweety sounds like he's Perry Mason all of a sudden.

And people want Tweety to go. If you didn't see this, watch it tonight.

3.  Why is he on this show making a fool
of himself. He's stammering and stuttering, it's crazy!

I had to laugh at the parts of the conversation with Tweety when Roland says,...."yeah, I said that, but when I got off the phone, I thought to myself....I can't do that." LOL!

Roland! Your "personal thoughts" won't help you in court.

I think Tweety feels sorry for him. He has such a troubled look on his face. LOL!

8. Of course. Tweety just destroyed him on national television.
While I believe Tweety genuinely liked the guy.

4. Not Perry Mason. Columbo. Tweety makes you think he's stupid so you understimate him...
... and then BLAMO!

You've confessed to bribing a governor!

Fair enough!

HA!

21. Hey!!! I'm 28 and I love Matlock.
Admittedly I watch it with my mum who thinks Andy Griffith is still Sheriff Andy Taylor with a law degree. But then she always gave me the impression she thought Don Notts retired from being Deputy when he was on Threes Company, but was still Barney Fife. She's not old, old she's just not originally from this country.

10. Too bad Tweety can't apply the same standard when he has Tom Delay on.
Instead, he falls all over himself complimenting him and begging him to come back on.

Whatever.....

Burris needs to go. He shouldn't run next year. And the Democratic Party in Illinois needs to step on it and find some good replacements so that we hang on to that seat.

23. Agreed on Delay. But then again, who better to represent the GOP?
I think Tweety likes having him on because he's so universally loathed, it doesn't matter what he says.

32. DeLay seems to be in his category of guests valued for being colorful and provocative.
He likes to compliment them, saying that they don't speak with a "forked tongue." But Matthews did obviously get a kick out of it when Debbie Wasserman-Schultz trashed DeLay on his show once, with her usual sly wit.

18. Horrible. The entire dialogue will be used against him.
At this point, he should put in his resignation today. A once great man, destroyed because he wanted a seat in the Senate. I sometimes have to wonder how O never got caught up in this tripe because it seems to take people down who were considered good guys. I appreciate the fact it didn't, but still amazed by it.

24. He won't resign.
He entered the Senate in scandal. No one else wanted the Blago appointment by the time he got it. The guy's got no shame, as it became clear when he and his supporters accused the Senate of racism for holding up his seating. What's sad is how quickly the senate rolled over to avoid clearly false accusations of racism

27. Burris provided Fitzgerald with a Smorgasbord of evidence in that interview
His defense is that he's a liar.

That shit don't fly.

PREDICTION: We now know what the last line in the epitaph that is already partially carved on Burris' self erected monument to himself will say.

FELON

28. I dunno. Any hint as to what was said?
I do want Matthews to go. He's a total asshat, or near-total. Every once in a while, he does muster the courage to demand an answer, but rarely follows up with logical questions, or challenges to key answers.

34. This has all been so hilarious to watch Burris crash and burn.
If we could have impeached Blagojevich earlier (like all of us in Illinois were BEGGING to happen), we wouldn't be cursed with this moron.

I'm enjoying it at this point.
