"Hundreds and thousands of protesters" at Notre Dame, according to MSNBC
Then one graduate who said she is pro-life but proud to have the president come speak to her class.

Shouldn't this be about what the graduates want? Don't most polls show that most of them WANT Obama to speak?

1. "Hundreds and thousands"?
What does that mean? Are they trying to make it sound like "hundreds of thousands", without actually saying that?

13. So I'm sure they have long shot photos to prove it right?
Surely they've posted the photos on their website and provided a link so we can see hundreds of thousands of protesters in the same shot!

See, photos do make a difference!

2. Yes, now they come out of the woodwork... but in their own homes
and lives they do things against the teachings of the pope - they use birth control, they don't attend mass faithfully, they don't confess all their sins of greed and want, etc. etc.

11. Sure makes a difference, did they correct their "mistake?"

We can see where this is headed.

What time does it start- the speech?

16. Either 1 or 2 pm - sorry can't remember exactly
And I turned off MSNBC since all they seemed to be talking about was this speech.

8. Here's what I found on MSNBC (and it ain't pretty)
Edited on Sun May-17-09 10:48 AM by Proud Liberal Dem
"Abortion clouds Obama event at Notre Dame"

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/30782728/

Oh, and check out this little gem from this story:

"Obama's appearance at Notre Dame would appear to be complicated by new polls that show Americans' attitudes on the issue have shifted toward the ANTI-ABORTION (my emphasis) position."

:eyes: Boy, they love to talk about that BS Gallup Poll- although they consistently fail to mention that at least 75% of the people in that survey did NOT take a genuinely ANTI-ABORTION position as they supported a woman's right to CHOOSE abortion in at least some circumstances. That doesn't sound "anti-abortion" to me.

And there's this as well:

"Poll shows majority back Notre Dame's Obama invite"
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/05/14/poll-shows-majority-back-notre-dames-obama-invite/

Where are the pictures of these hundreds and thousands of protesters????

18. Wonder how many of these "hundreds and thousands," are Catholic
Many of the Fundamentalist Protestant wacko's, despise Catholicism and are very vocal about it. Yet they wouldn't hesitate to join the Catholic in this protest when it serves their own agenda......Can you say Hypocrite?

21. I remembering seeing that most American Catholics are
supportive of Obama's speaking.

I agree with you - this is driven by a few loud and ugly Catholics - the bishops looking for a promotion and jerks like Wm. Donohue - and a lot of fundamentalist Protestants.

They're joined by their hatred of women in general, and their fear of a president with a brain and a heart.

Notice all these "pro-lifers" had no problem with Bush - the torturer, the murderer, the man who delighted and laughed while he signed execution orders - speaking there.

19. The cables are a joke ~ they keep showing the same older than
dirt 20 people.

You know it's a fix when they zoom the camera in on six people and don't give you are clue that there are only 16 people there.
