Best joke from the Daily Show last night:
Always check the fine print, people!

"Yes we can"
"but that doesn't necessarily mean we're going to"

7. I get it! Because there are some issues on which he hasn't yet fixed everything completely!
Seriously, I can't think of a President, save perhaps FDR, who has acted so quickly on so many different issues. Nor can I think of any campaign promises that were outright betrayed--at least not recently, and not of the "he said he'd wait five days before signing every bill but he didn't do that with the stimulus bill" variety.

I never took "yes we can" to mean "yes, Occam Bandage, we can enact every single item on your personal agenda exactly the way you want it before we have completed four months of the Presidency."

Transparency

Getting out of Iraq

Transparency

Closing Gitmo

Transparency

DADT/DOMA repeal (I know, we uppity gays deserve to get shat upon because of our behavior--you centrists keep telling us that.)

Transparency

Protecting the middle class

Oh, and Transparency.

17. What about 'em?
Obama's running the most transparent White House since Carter at least. He always said getting out of Iraq would be a careful, deliberate process taking months. He already issued the order to close gitmo. He's pushed a pro-middle-class bankruptcy bill, a pro-middle-class credit card bill, is pushing the best labor law in decades in EFCA, and the stimulus package was aimed at creating middle-class jobs. He's already stated that he plans to repeal DADT through legislation, ensuring a Republican President can't reverse Obama's decision with an executive order.

11. Don't you know? That's the significance of the "first hundred days."
Every previous President has enacted their entire agenda completely and totally within 100 days of being elected. It's a shocking failure that Obama still has dozens of issues left to fix. I mean, Bush only handed him a country with one stalemated war, one losing war, a massive pile of ongoing human rights violations, a collapsing financial sector, an enormous budget deficit, a broken health-care system, and a plummeting economy. He should have had that all wrapped up by day 5.

12. I totally agree. I'm surprised Presidents don't just resign after 4 months due to shame.
