1. Good ending to a
scarey story with the pic to prove it.

Thanks, Thrill.

2. Okay, so as a person who loves antiques, I'm always ogling
up close shots of the White House furnishings. That said, I wonder what is on the little stand underneath the table. A phone and something else?

5. Would it be a recording device? Seems somewhat clunky
Edited on Sat May-09-09 01:22 PM by lunatica
Or an intercom system? Maybe it's the famous red telephone, or the nuclear football in the room...

3. Good to know he's meeting real people
and not just the fat cats, as GWB did.

BTW, look at the shelves under the end table between Obama and the Captain. A telephone is on the bottom shelf and a recording device appears to be above it. What do you think?

4. Everything in this photo makes me proud to be an American right now

All three people are heroic in their own way regarding the rescue and in the Oval Office. I feel very proud of them all.

9. I think since both are tieless it was prearranged to be casual.
Edited on Sat May-09-09 01:59 PM by Saturday
ETA - Remember the other day when the shovel ready workers stood behind Obama in jeans holding their hard hats? I think this attire stuff is prearranged.

14. I'm with you on that one....
I think that the Captain and his wife are dressed up, and I think that it's a beautiful photo-op of the three of them.

Whereas I would have been in a suit, I have met many down-to-earth folks that looked pretty spiffy dressed just as these folks are.

11. I thought the same thing. No disrespected intended.
But I still get irked when I see people wearing sweat pants on an airplane. Air travelers should certainly dress for comfort, but sweatpants? Ewww.
