During Bush terms, Media did Friday News Dump Without a word; Now THEY SCREAM "Friday News Dump!"
Edited on Fri May-08-09 05:51 PM by FrenchieCat
For the last eight years, Bush's WH would dump news on Friday, and the corporate news media would just go with it....

We, the bloggers would called it News dump, but they, the Corp Media didn't.

But now that we have the Obama Administration, the Corporate media makes sure that any news coming out on a Friday is held suspect as being bad news being put out on a sly, because it is coming on a Friday.

I find this odd.

An example is The WH Official resigning for the Flyover debacle. Both CNN and MSNBC and FOX have all proclaimed that this was bad news for the Administration because it came out on a Friday.

I beg to differ. Considering that it was a big story, and Pres. Obama was reportely furious, why would it be that news of the resignation should be put out there on the sly? Makes no sense.

Anyways, I think that News Dump day should be moved, cause I don't like the Corporate News Media
using what they used to do willingly for the Bush Admin, to now use it against this particular administration.

So I'm for moving Friday's News Dump to Saturday! :)

1. Yes, I remember..
Two sets of standards for Dems and the fascist cabal known as bushits.

I don't suppose it would do any good to call them on it?

2. Naw.....this thread should do it.
You know many of the talking heads have their peons all over the Internet lurking all over to see what is being talked about. I wouldn't doubt that they check in at DU.....just in case they can find something that the "Liberals" are mad at Pres. Obama about.

3. It's a good way for anyone, who's interested, to
know what people are thinking about, politically speaking.

The corporatemedia isn't fooling anybody with their manipulation and manufactured FEAR and they're on their way to extinction.

5. It probably was a Friday news dump, but who cares

The "flyover debacle" was non-story anyway; a bunch of hysterical people running around the streets like fools. It told me more about them than the White House.

Just the media being "impartial".

11. I'm thinking Obama maybe a few steps away from knowing
what's going on with vehicle inventory. Do you think a President is some sort of omnipresent and omnipotent being that knows the every movement of thousands of federal employees and equipment.

Obama is responsible and answerable for his branch but to expect him to be macro managing every move is expecting the absurd.

Is it possible he knew or even invented the stunt? Sure, but to think he should be aware of the location and purpose of every plane in the sky is a bit much. In fact, it is not at all his job. We probably have some thousands of people that divide those huge responsibilities that you'd expect from one person with tons more on their plate to boot.

about Friday news dumps, which were a treasured tool of the Bush administration and had to be hauled out to our attention by Rachel Maddow when she was still on the radio, and others,
is another example of their hypocrisy.

But the resignation would qualify as typical for that category because the incident itself was embarrassing, so you want to close it off quietly and not remind people of the event.

But in a way it was okay that they called attention to it because as you noted, it is only natural that the person who designed that stunt would want to resign.
