Steele on SCOTUS pick: "I'll give you empathy. Empathize right on your behind"
Edited on Fri May-08-09 02:16 PM by HopeOverFear

RNC Chairman Michael Steele (pictured above) hosted a radio show this morning and discussed President Obama's forthcoming pick of a Supreme Court nominee:

"Good morning y'all, we're back in the house. We're talking a little bit of Constitution and a little bit Supreme Court. And a whole lot of saving America's judicial system and saving our rights as citizens and not having empathetic judges decide cases, but rather judges who are actually understanding the rule of law and what the Constitution and those laws are all about. And how to apply the facts to the law and the law to the facts. And adjudicate my case. I don't need some judge sitting up there feeling bad for my opponent because of their life circumstances or their condition. And short changing me and my opportunity to get fair treatment under the law. Crazy nonsense empathetic. I'll give you empathy. Empathize right on your behind. Craziness."

7. Good Morning y'all, we're back in the house?
I can use black slang better than this tool and I'm as white as a sheet. Michael Steele and Rush Limbaugh leading the GOP, the gifts that keep on giving.

I say keep them both on the air as much as possible, make sure everyone knows they run the show.

18. Can he just limit himself to one thing at a time?
I mean, if you're going to sound like five types of fool with no knowledge of our justice system, do you have to also sound like a psychopathic GOP "homeboy" tool at the same time?

Who in the world is threatened by the concept of EMPATHY? When in hell did EMPATHY become a bad thing? I'm about to start a CD fund for this clown. Maybe if we send him enough money, he'll retire from politics permanently, go somewhere and sit his embarrassing @ss down. I am really starting to hate this man.

19. blatant ignorance is a Republican quest
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empathy

Empathy is the capability to share your feelings and understand another's emotion and feelings. It is often characterized as the ability to "put oneself into another's shoes," or in some way experience what the other person is feeling. Empathy does not necessarily imply compassion, sympathy, or empathic concern because this capacity can be present in context of compassionate or cruel behavior.

20. That is such an appropriate pic of (is it bert or ernie?).....
steele has become a caricature, along with sarah palin, joe the plumber and bobby jindal.

It's been both, amusing and satisfying to watch the gop implode. The gop has not only managed to make themselves become the party of irrelevancy, but pure entertainment gold as well.

I remember watching his restaurant skits with Grover when I was a child in the 70s.

21. Craziness, indeed.
I don't even know what that means. "Empathize right on your behind?" It sounds like something a snotty five-year-old would say when you told him he needed to 'empathize' and he didn't have a clue what that meant.
