VP Biden: "The President and I look forward to working with Mr. Franken"
Edited on Wed May-06-09 06:26 PM by HopeOverFear

From the White House Blog:

The Vice President met with Al Franken this afternoon, and released this statement afterwards:

"The election process and recount in Minnesota have lived up to the state's reputation for organization, transparency, and bipartisanship. The officials have been meticulous and every ruling has been unanimous.

"While Senator Amy Klobuchar is one of the hardest working members of the United States Senate, Minnesotans deserve their full representation.

"Once the Minnesota Supreme Court has issued its final ruling in this case, the President and I look forward to working with Mr. Franken on building an economy for the 21st century."

4. Now I have to wonder if Specter's statement a set-up. Lately everything seems a set up
so the O admin comes out ahead. Huh!! I love them..but their masterminds.

You'd want to keep that locked as much as possible. From the outside.

22. I think it's kinda near a main entryway....
Edited on Wed May-06-09 08:11 PM by Clio the Leo
See the white thingy sticking out from the left side of this pic? The door is near that.

Joe the Hottness and Soon-to-be-Senator Franken are facing North. If you look closely, you can see the fireplace their backs are against.

And this pic shows the white thingy leads to the parking lot...

26. Ha ha! I remember that from 60 minutes. Joe inherited in 1988 from another Senator.
I think his name was John Stennis and he retired. He was against civil rights while Joe came in being for it. Another one his stories. :) I wonder who has that office now. Its in the Russell building, which is supposed to be the cool one every Senator wants to get into.

37. The Russell building is the older, classic office building.
The Hart building is the modern one. 8 or 9 floors up with an atrium of a hanging sculpture in the middle. Hart is very classy. Russell looks like an old gov office to me.

10. This is good news. Franken needs to be seated ASAP especially
given the report that the President is getting close to a pick for the SCOTUS.

One more vote and positive voice will only help.

And I can imagine that Franken will be all over the teevees the day he is seated -- he's an excellent communicator and it will be another positive.

... he pretty much has no choice. He could refuse, I guess, but the House could impeach him for that.
