31. SpecTOR is the one with the wigs who's in jail.
Best way to remember is to think that as he went to jail, music producer Phil SpecTOR had to TAKE OFF RUG (TOR).

37. LOL!
Great! I just have to pay more attention and not let the whirlwinds around me distract me so much. I used to be better at it when I was still working in noisy newsrooms. No excuse, really.

BTW - I love that little cat thingie going on at the bottom there!

Edited on Wed May-06-09 03:40 PM by ClarkUSA
Woof reads the quote and asks Reid for comment. Reid pauses for awhile, smiles, and then speaks.

Reid: Arlen has said that isn't the way he said that... but he said to me, "I forgot which team I was on."

Specter is doing himself no favors by continuing to whine about how Reid done him wrong.

9. Sure seems like it
I initially thought that there might be some big master strategy ("chess") being pursued by Obama, Reid, et. al regarding Specter but after the last few days, I'm not so sure. It's almost as though Specter really thinks he's still in the Republican Party. His votes and stances seem more designed to appeal to Pennsylvania GOP primary voters that he would've needed to have won from Toomey in next year's primary- had he stayed where he was. If he continues acting the way he has these past few days, then I can't imagine Obama, Reid, or anybody else sticking their necks out for him next year and protecting him from a primary challenger. I just have a hard time believing that Specter would really be so crazy and/or stupid to make such a dramatic switchover to the Democratic Party only to act so un-Democratic. Something just doesn't add up unless he's either senile or suicidal. I suppose this could all be some grand charade but I'm not sure exactly what the overarching strategy would be.

12. My first reaction was he's going senile. Then I thought the whole context sounded like a joke.
Edited on Wed May-06-09 03:56 PM by ClarkUSA
Now I'm back to thinking he's going senile. Of course, he was a Republican for three decades and bad habits may be hard to break
but he'd better learn fast or get his aide to slip him reminders before to voting.

Did you know that he's been put on political probation until after the 2010 elections? http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=8392949&mesg_id=8393188

Edited on Wed May-06-09 04:11 PM by ClarkUSA
Lawrence O'Donnell is raking Specter over the coals, says Specter better vote in a way that pleases Democrats
or he'll stay at the back of the line until he dies. Politico editor Jim Vanderhei says Specter better watch his
step from now on.

27. Yeah, O'Donnell is always balls to the wall.
He later said he didn't think Specter would ever recover his seniority even after the 2010 elections are over,
that even his re-election is not assured now. He said if there is a primary challenger, Specter better expect
that MTP moment where he said, "I never said I was a loyal Democrat" to be in a campaign ad. Ouch!

Along with his other flip-flops: saying he would be loyal, then lying about it; supporting Coleman; participating in the obstruction of Dawn Johnson.

24. He probably did forget, he has come across as...
senile as hell in every interview I've seen of him lately. Senility combined with the extra added burden of trying to juggle a bunch of disingenuous bullshit must be a hard thing to try to pull off, and he has failed miseribly.

Question is, will the good people of Pennsylvania let him get away with it in 2010.

He meant what he said and it didn't matter that he now has a D after his name. And anyone who thinks at this stage of the game Coleman won is an idiot. He meant what he said. Remember he's not a loyal Democrat.
