1. Specter will win against anyone.
The city (Philly) labor unions were talking of switching to Republican for the primaries to help Specter win and now I'm sure they will fully support him in the Democratic primary. I don't see why though considering he plans to vote against EFCA. This was a perfect opportunity to let Specter get primaried out and get a real Democrat in the Senate. There was no way in hell Toomey could have beaten any candidate we put up there in the general. Now it looks like Tom "color code bullshit" Ridge may run against Specter and no matter who wins that election, we lose.

he'll be able to support a slightly amended version of EFCA.

edit, thanks for the info on Philly union support, I was curious about that, and lastly I forgot to add this link... it's an article Specter co-wrote on Labor Law reform and card check last year..

4. Ridge isn't going to run. There is nothing in it for him. He has already been Gov.
And, Toomey has already declared and is backed by the Rebub party. Ridge is a moderate also and the Republicans will not support and moderate.

3. Specter is a moderate and for most of Pa it really doesn't matter what party he is with.
He is well known and liked in much of the state. Trying to run another Dem against him in a primary will just be playing into the hands of Richard Mellon Scaife and other purist Republicans. I for one would much rather vote for Specter and have him represent PA than to have Toomey win. This guy is worse than Rick Santorum. Do you remember him?

6. No, and if we look good in other races, I'd withhold my vote in the GE
I never had any desire to be represented by him before, and I don't now either.

7. He only switched parties to save his ass
I hope Pennsylvanians remember that. And I hope he loses. He doesn't deserve to be in either party. If I go back to Pa I am not going to vote for him that is for sure. I would rather leave it blank than vote for a DINO.
