Biden cancels GMA appearance
@ 3:31 pm by Eric Zimmermann

Vice President Joe Biden has canceled his scheduled appearance on Good Morning America tomorrow.

A "scheduling conflict" forced Biden to withdraw, according to ABC. No word yet on a re-scheduled date.

2. Uh oh ... that's not good....
..as this appearance was a major deal I would imagine.

I wonder if it had to do with the flu outbreak?

3. I don't think so, per the WH Obama has been given a clean bill of health
I think its because Joe is flying out to Chicago tomorrow and maybe his plane has to leave at a certain time and there is a conflict (here is the WH daily schedule: http://www.politico.com/politico44/) I hope no one has the flu of any kind! Not very pleasant.

6. lol, no, that's not what I meant....
.... I meant, perhaps, that Joe was needed to .... go do something flu related ..... meet with someone or something. ;)

7. I would guess more likely either Iraq or Pakistan which are both
having new problems. So far, the flu has sickened very few people, none seriously. The press conference spoke of what needs to be done. They are getting prepared, but there is no emergency at this point.

5. I bet it has to do with Pakistan
He wouldn't miss a chance to talk on TV unless it was something serious -- more serious than the Flu.

10. I predict many cancellations by public officials in the coming days
There will be the perfunctory explanation that it's all some scheduling snafu, but the underlying assumption will be that it is fear of the swine flu.

11. Did anyone think it might have to do with someone in his family?
Just wanted you all to remember, these people are people, too!

They are human, and have human needs and demands. They don't belong to us 24/7/52 weeks a year.

Or sure, it could be that Obama and Biden are going on TV at 7 AM to tell us that the flu is important, and Obama shouldn't have been playing golf when 3 dozen people out of 310 million in the USA had the non-lethal flu.

Jeeze!

12. What Biden did today was a bit more important than GMA - He was in Chitown at that windows and door
place that went on strike last year -

Biden tours Chicago factory
Associated Press
10:14 AM CDT, April 27, 2009
CHICAGO - Vice President Joe Biden is in Chicago at a window factory that was the site of a labor dispute last year.

Biden visited the former Republic Windows and Doors plant where workers camped out to protest the shuttering of the facility by the old owner.

The new owner, Serious Materials, makes energy efficient windows and is in the process of hiring back the old workers.

Biden stopped in to talk about stimulus money for green initiatives.
