STeve Schmidt: (yeah that Steve Schmidt) Lauds Obama 2008 Campaign as the "unfinished RFK campaign"
NEWARK, Del. – The men who ran the presidential campaigns of Barack Obama and John McCain appeared together on stage for the first time Thursday at the University of Delaware to complete a pair of tasks: To articulate their (remarkably similar) views of the election, and to hash out the details of continuing coursework so that they can, at last, graduate.

McCain chief strategist Steve Schmidt and Obama campaign manager David Plouffe seemed to agree on a central point: McCain was always the longest of long-shot candidates. (You would not have known this from hearing either of them talk during the campaign.)

Schmidt, the father of hundreds of attacks on Obama, spoke of the president’s political skills with unabashed admiration.

“This was, in my view, the unfinished Bobby Kennedy campaign – the idealism, the passion, the inspiration he gave to people, it was organic and it was real and it wasn’t manufactured at a tactical level in the campaign.”

1. I think he knew there was no way McCain was going to win.
Obama was too strong a candidate for them.

5. According to the Newsweek expose on the campaigns, senior McCain aides
knew he had no chance by the third debate.

2. I was not aware that he was Gay. I heard him speak on Cspan radio
talking to the Log Cabin Republicans about how the GOP needs to move beyond the issue of Gay marriage,

3. I know his sister is gay
and he supports gay marriage, but I don't know if he is gay.

McCain was always a really long shot, but the McCain campaign was exceptionally bad. Sorry Steve, it can't be whitewashed.

4. Did Schmidt get a brain transplant?
Seriously, it's like the fog around his brain has lifted.

6. I just don't like these type of
co-operation, its like giving them ideas how to sabotage the next election, sometimes these debates can be an undercover setup, they come in as being timid and then use their knowledge gained to
their advantage.

I hope David did not share the Obamas' camp inner deeper secrets, hell he is probably too clever for that anyways.

Just my 10cents...

7. "and now it's on to Chicago and let's win THERE!"
I grew up with bobby as my political idol and was moved to tears last summer when I realized the new irony of his famous last words.
