You Know Who Is NOT Politicizing the Rescue Operation?
Obama.

That's right. While the Right is saying he will and the left are saying it proves Obama has the judgment required to be pres (and he does), there's one person, one group that isn't making a political mountain out of this: Obama and his administration.

Go take a look at Whitehouse.gov.

Is there a Mission Accomplished banner?

Is there even a press release?

Nope.

Not only does Obama have the right judgment to order the rescue, but he has the right judgment not to politicize it.

If you haven't seen this yet, it's a beautiful commentary on how Obama handled it featuring Ed Shultz and Gen. Wesley Clark:

2. That's one of the luxuries of being in power, actions speak louder than words
And the President is more equipped than anybody to take action. If your actions are remarkable then there really is no need for words.

Of course, the Bush Administartion's actions were far from remarkable. They needed a mission accomplished banner and all sorts of other spin to make us think that they had in fact done something remarkable.

3. The Barack Obama I know....
.... isn't keen on celebrating anything that involved three people getting killed, even if they were the bad guys.

That and the fact that the Somalis are already shooting back at us...

.... hate to tell yall this but I doubt this thing is over. Enjoy the "we won this round" euphoria while it lasts.

13. Those were anti-government Islamic extremists -- not pirates
Somalia has more than enough different kinds of trouble to go around -- but it's stupid to suggest that the pirates have the capacity to retaliate by firing mortar shells at the Mogadishu airport.

4. No "RAH RAH USA"? No "FUCKIN' A!!!" ?
Doesn't that make Pres. Obama a "blame America First"er? A "pirate lover"?

Or just a man with far more class than...some.

5. I'm expecting that he figures there are many more problems on his plate yet to complete.
Doesn't have time to fly out to a navy ship and don a flight outfit that emphasizes parts of his body. Like the dick head Bush did.

9. I heard some republican strategist say pretty much the same thing
Didn't pay attention to his name but he usually does the regular anti-Obama spin when I've seen him. Today he was saying he made the right decision but also really complimented him not hyping his role at all, staying in the background and then giving all the credit to the people who were there. He said something like it was good leadership or very presidential.
He'll probably change his tune but it was a nice surprise.

That was the great part of what Obama did, ignoring the chatter beforehand and like you said not politicizing it at all, not even sliding in references to "I gave the order..."

11. Yeah. Gergen was saying this last night
He didn't come out talking all big and tough while the guy was hostage. And when it was over, he didn't take any credit for it.

I agree with General Clark, an A+ grade for President Obama on his handling of this situation.

Edited to correct a grammatical error.
