Why don't Geither and Summers get credit for the budget?
Something occurred to me with all the teeth gnashing and wailing about Obama and his economic advisers that these people were also critical in putting together one of the most progressive budgets ever. Seems to me it wouldn't be fair to discuss them only in context to the bailouts which it usual case. I don't know it's just a thought.

6. well obviously everything is his
it's his public-private partnership, housing program, stimulus program, etc. regardless of who crafts what. i guess the original poster is just saying that people have a tendency to separate the president from the policies they don't like and just try to find others to blame saying they are leading the president astray (like he's some child who can't think for himself ... obambi if you will). geithner and summers are obviously not all bad and they don't get credit for anything.

3. Because many DUers have created this BS image of them as Corporatist monsters.
The black-and-white thinking is pathetic.

4. I believe Orszag pretty much wrote the budget from start to finish...
if anyone knows otherwise, I'd be curious to read about it.

but you have to reason that these two given their positions were heavily consulted during the process. You could and should say that for all of Obama's economic decisions thus far be it the stimulus, the budget or the bailouts.

5. We are only in the first inning here.
Lots of game to be played yet to see who exactly got it right.

I have my reservations about the amount of direct control, let alone influence, investment banking has had over this process, but I am sincerely hopeful that the Obama economic team is on the right track.

I shudder to think of what may happen otherwise.

8. Because the way ihateobama people show how much they support Obama...
is by doing nothing but whine about him.

Anything good must be ignored. You don't want to be a goose-stepping, dissent-stifling, America-hating Obama-worshipper, do you? DO YOU!!!!!
