2. Which just proves that people care more about their wallet than the slaughter of foreigners,
the starving of the homeless, or maintaining the integrity of the Constitution.

7. And people in general - I think they've gone so pitbull because of the economy.
Partly because the media leans so heavily to the right and we have a Democratic president - I'm sure if Bush were still president, or McCain were, and doing the same thing Obama is, the media wouldn't be as out for blood...but they'd still be more hounding than they had been.

So much of life and what's happening in the world is abstract, distant, foreign, doesn't really touch on our lives - but money: money is something people get. Though don't understand how the economy or money works, but they know that they need money.

And so they're far more intense about a bad economy than they ever would be over a bad war or a society which throws away millions of tons of food while a quarter of its population goes hungry.

6. LOL- no kidding! The BEST thing? Is that everyone is turning their back on TV news now!
No matter what their political stripe, everywhere I go in person and on the internet is telling me that they have given up watching the TV news. They said that they're tired of the sensationalizing the bad news, the constant negativity, the noise, and the doom and gloom. Rick Warren wannabees like Chuck Todd are losing audiences every day. Their bullshit attack tactics are failing miserably, and only fire up the angry old white men that have to stay angry in order to exist.

The transition to digital TV is going to leave a lot of people out in the boonies looking at static:
