The President on 60 Minutes tonight , and.....
Croft (the 60 minute interviewer) was interviewed on CNN in the early morning (I pledge not to watch the show, but my television was on when I woke up this morning "magically)...and he said that Barack Obama was very agressive in a question that was posed to him about what Darth Vader Cheney had said about him.

Croft stated that he thought that the Prez would answer the question either brushing off Cheney (which is what he expected) or come down hard on Cheney. Croft said that he was a bit surprised that Obama not only chose the later, but how very hard he came down on Cheney.

I'm eagerly waiting for that part! :)

The interview took place on Friday night.
60 minutes was given 90 minutes with the President at the White House,
60 minutes in the Oval Office, and 30 minutes touring the place.
In addition, Croft stated that the President was the most relaxed that he had ever seen him,
in all of the interviews that he had done.

The interview is wide ranging from the topic of Afghanistan, to AIG, to his budget, and many other subjects.

They selected 30 questions out of an initial 125. But they didn't have time to ask all 30.

Croft seemed quietly impressed somehow.

The CNN Commentator was attempting to gently peddle the question as to why 60 minutes?...and Croft pwned him by responding because 60 Minutes gets a much larger audience than cable ( ), some 13 million or so (tonight will be much bigger, I can assure you), and it is a different type of audience, many who don't follow the every goings on seen on Cable.

I'm looking forward to it! :bounce:

6. No worries, I liked your post!
Sorry if it like my ire was aimed at your OP.

It was like an appetizer and now I want my entree...but there are college kids throwing basketballs around on my TV! ((I love B-ball, but not when Obama is on 60 MIN))

Maybe they will play it afterwards, but they are only in the second quarter right now.

I'm sure they will....MUST. BE. PATIENT....

5. And Midwestern too. How can they schedule an interview
with Obama when they know their sport event will delay it?

Do basketball games run longer that what is planned?

I am PISSED, too.

8. On second thought, it might be another stroke of genius
the President is a huge basketball fan, so he knew there would be a game this evening.

Maybe he thought by doing it for tonight, it would be delayed but that they'll get an even bigger audience from all of the millions watching the game!

7. That's good!
CBS has been promoting 60 Minutes during their NCAA coverage today, so there should be a huge bump compared to a normal Sunday.

isn't complaining?!

And I like Steve Croft; he does seem to like President Obama, and the feeling seems to be mutual.

10. And it is not just one game
they go from one to another. Won't start until 8:00 PM Eastern, I suspect.

We would like to watch the King on NBC and then Housewives on ABC and the Unit on CBS. So, sorry, we will be watching "60 Minutes" on line later in the week.

14. Rec'd~ This is very interesting
coming from Steve Kroft. I rememeber interviews with Obama from him over the last couple a years and my overall sense is they weren't exactly softball which turns out to be a good thing.

19. CBS is the best place to be seen by the most people.
And they do a good job. That's why I also watch their evening news--because of their good rep for 60 Minutes. They're the only network that has a show like this; 20/20 isn't close, nor is Dateline.
