I hope nobody takes offense at a McCain joke

This is an old joke, but it reminds me of the 2008 Presidential race.
Especially when viewed from Sarah Palin's perspective.

Robert goes golfing every Saturday. One Saturday, he comes home three
hours late. His wife asks him, "What took you so long?"

The guy says, "That was the worst game of golf I've ever had. We got
up to the first tee, and Charlie hit a hole-in-one and immediately
dropped dead of a heart attack."

The guy's wife says, "That's terrible!"

The guy says, "I know. Then, for the rest of the game, it was hit the
ball, drag Charlie, hit the ball, drag Charlie, hit the ball, drag
Charlie.

But in Palin's case it was : "Make a rousing speech, drag McCain, attack Obama, drag McCain, shake hands, drag McCain".

We all know that last year was destined to be a Democratic year. We would have won no matter who the GOP ran. But do any of us think the battle would have been so easy without the aid of the Arizona Albatross ?
