Saw Obama's Appearance On Leno - He Did Very Well - I'm Very Surprised
He was very reassuring and is clearly his own best spokesman. He described the AIG situation in a very down to earth way without being condescending or speaking over the heads of his audience. It was a fantastic appearance that was perhaps the best I've seen him in an interview format. Heck, I thought he was even better than he was during his townhalls.

As for the special Olympics comment, I was expecting more. I had to rewind the Tivo to catch it. It was not politically correct, and Obama apologized for it, but I am almost surprised at how the mainstream media ignored 99 percent of what he said in order to focus on the comment. I guess I should not be surprised by the corporate media, but with all the hoopla, I expected Obama to do a stand-up version of Living Color's Handi-man skit.

My parents who are older conservatives actually appreciated what Obama had to say even though they were fierce McCain supporters, though they are not necessarily political. So, to the extent someone actually heard it, the message got through. Sadly, if someone relies on the secondary media to tell them what to think, well, the message has been and will be diluted.

1. That interview was great!
I got a better understanding of the economic issues. I thought he did a great job. I knew from Keith about the comment before I watched but had to rewind myself to catch it. It is really sad that the comment became the focus and the rest of the interview was ignored..even here!

2. He was excellent......
and most people who watched the show didn't pick up on any real controversy, till the media decided it should be. What the media did is show a few million people that they, the media, are out of their minds.

That's what those folks who watched the show for themselves decided....and Barack Obama probably picked up even more staunch support based on the media's reaction.

3. Not only was the President excellent, he was funny. Very funny.
And his timing on his jokes is impeccable. To wit, the comeback when Jay Leno asked him if he wasn't picking North Carolina's Tarheels to win the NCAA men's basketball championship because North Carolina is a swing state.

The guy is sharp as a tack. Hell, even the Governator loves him.

The Special Olympics comment is typical corporate media tempest-in-a-teapot bullshit.

Next week I hope he'll be on with Letterman.

5. The Cowell gag was an excellent one, one I thin Cowell would apprecaite even if just publicity wise.

4. Exactly the attention drawn to the interview has just blown their distortion of events out of the>
water. The more they keep lying about a very popular President the less folks will listen.Whcih can only be a good thing. Keep promoting 'whiterosesociety.org' Like crazy attach banners everywhere you can on planet earth.

7. Yeah, Watching It On Tivo After Reading The Reviews Was Enlightening
I was expecting a whole stand-up routine and was waiting for the comment, but it did not come until close to the end of the appearance AND I MISSED IT, and had to rewind the TIVO, because it was such a small comment done mostly to make fun of his own poor bowling skils. Heck, Leno was the one who started it by being patronizing about the President's 129 score (which is not a great score, but c'mon). Yet, a lot of the headlines simply ignored the meat of Obama's message, and focused on a comment that clearly does not reflect Obama's policies. So, watching the show after reading the criticism was enlightening.
