Judge Judy on CNN: Obama shouldn't use the pejorative "RICH" when he talks about the Rich.
I'm paraphrasing Judge Judy here: Obama should acknowledge that the Rich, most of them like me (she tells her story) worked hard for what we have. I don't mind paying more because it isn't gonna change my lifestyle, or yours Larry, but he should make us feel like it's nice that we are doing this. He should have a tone that says, we are grateful for you doing this.
But calling us rich....You know, the way he says it? That's kind of like warfare.

So Rich is like a bad word to Judge Judy, I guess. :wtf:

1. Can't stand Judge Judy.
She is constantly lecturing people and asking irrelevant questions in the courtroom.

A cardboard sign reading "GET A JAWB" could replace Judge Judy.

work hard for what they have.

Most people in the US who are rich are so because of generational wealth, even if she is an exception.

She needs to spend less time worrying that the president isn't doing enough to make rich people feel good about themselves.

26. So true.
Maybe she should be sentenced with watching about 40 episodes of "Dirty Jobs" so she can catch a clue about the inverse correlation between working hard and being rich.

And what exactly did Judge Judy work hard at? Being an obnoxious troglodyte asshole judge on TV? Seems like it comes very naturally to her.

in an era when very few women did so. I am by no means a fan of hers but she surely worked very hard to get where she is today.

Edited on Sat Mar-21-09 08:37 PM by PM Martin
One of the most obnoxious bimbos of the modern society is demanding a kind tone?
:wtf:

Most people work hard and never become as wealthy as she has.
I prefer Warren Buffet's approach. He knows the wealthy make too much and there needs to be a certain amount of government intervention to level the playing field.

10. Well she said that....that poor people were giving as much as they could
and worked hard too.

I think what she was really referring to was her personal guilt.

She realizes that she should pay more, but somehow, she wants to be asked nicely,
appreciated for her generosity, etc....

She wants us all to kiss her ass before we raise her taxes, in other words.
po' thang. She wants respect and admiration.

42. The cases are real for the most part.
The only real difference is that the show pays the plaintiff and the defendant $5,000 each to appear, and if there is a judgment, that is subtracted from the loser's amount and added to the winner's. So if the plaintiff wins a $2,500 judgment, the plaintiff gets $7,500 and the defendant only gets $2,500.

19. Yeah. Let's hear a big brava
for Judge Judy who demonstrates her deep respect for the Law and the Courts by starring in a cheap, cheesy TV show where she gets (paid) to yell at, humiliate, scold and boss people around. On her show SHE's ALWAYS right and everyone else in her court is upbraided and sneered at like they were idiots, wayward children, or both.

Since the President has never made it seem that rich was a negative word, from my recollection. If anything he has called the rich the folks who are experiencing the American dream, and that most don't mind paying a little bit more....including himself.

developed society and they are wealthy the more obligation they have towards it's up keep. They reap the benefits of all that make their position possible below them. Through peoples hard work, their building of roads, their education. In judge Judy's case this would of come from the benefits of people had enough education to gain enough assets to win or lose in court cases. To keep her job with clients that has be maintained by taxes. There doesn't have to be any real kind request just recognition of the investment they are placing in their own future. Money has to circulate in society paying taxes is part of that process. So thank you kindly Judy but did it really need to be said? There is no war on the right just a management of the peoples business to make it more fair. Does Judy have to kindly request people to payout in lawsuit. Erm no. It's not that she's been sued it's just fairness is an open and shut case. Let alone the President is going very lightly on the rich the years of back log of society maintenance should mean higher tax increases on the wealthy but she's fortunate he's nice guy. So, maybe... possibly, someone else needs to say thanks.

They supposedly get 35 dollars a day for taping plus 100 dollars, and their settlement is covered. (not sure if that's gone up in the last few years or not)

She earns 25 million a year or so.

She's exploiting the hell out of them - and whining that people aren't being sensitive enough to her feelings. Unbelievable.
