1. That just proves he's a barbarian.
Well, that and being left handed.

I'd like to see the Panthers win it all, but I don't think it'll happen.

4. In all honesty we would be condemning Bush for this
War, recession, etc and he is spending time on BB. But double standards are always the rule in politics.

7. War, recession...condemning Bush?
Bush was probably already on vacation by this time in his Presidency.

8. In all honesty, we SHOULD be condemning Bush for this War and Recession....
Since they happened under his watch. President Barack Obama...not so much.

16. Ahhh get a clue
It doesn't matter whose watch it occurred on. Obama is in charge now. He is not BB in chief.

9. In all
honesty, when President Obama starts a war or causes a recession then I'll condemn him. But for a man who has been working as hard as he has since taking the oath of office, I'll grant him 10 free minutes to take a breath and do something he enjoys.

19. I'm not condemning him
He can fill out all the BB brackets he wants. But I am not a hypocrite and I wouldn't condemn Bush for doing the same thing.

12. No we wouldn't because I don't expect the president to be working 24/7, 365 days a year.
The problem with Bush is that he actually never did anything. He never worked and never even appeared to be working.

Obama has gone out and worked his butt off the last two months. In fact, he's done more in the last two months than any modern president has done in their entire terms in office.

I don't have a problem with him doing this. I don't have a problem with him enjoying one of the best American sports months. Just as I didn't have a problem with him going to Wizard games, or Bush going to National games.

Presidents are allowed to lead somewhat of a life. If they're forced to work every single day without any relief, they'd collapse and die within the first month of their presidency.

So don't tell me what I'd be doing, ok? Thanks.

17. I will tell you because you are a hypocrite. Thanks.
"In fact, he's done more in the last two months than any modern president has done in their entire terms in office." WTF? You have a poor grasp of history.

23. Do you even know the definition of hypocrite?
I think not, because I've never complained about Bush attending baseball games or doing sporting events.

I might've bitched about seeing his ugly mug on TV, but it wasn't about him taking the time to enjoy it. I'm not like you, I expect my president to take time off.

As for having a poor grasp of history, I think it is you who fails in this regard.

So again, I ask that you stop telling me what I think, ok? Or are you going to give me approval to tell you what you think?

27. You didn't read the posts
I don't condemn Obama or Bush for taking time off. I was addressing most the posts I have seen on DU which blasted Bush for taking vacation time but praising Obama for doing so. I don't believe in double standards.

28. I read your post. You used 'we'. I am not you.
I would not be condemning Bush.

Maybe you would, but not I.

You lumped us all together.

Maybe you should've said, "Some of us would..."

But you didn't.

18. Nobody condemned Bush when he pardoned a turkey
Another senseless ritual that just became part of what a president does. Not everything has to be work, work, work. Some of us need a little levity in our lives. I'll grant him a few minutes to fill out some brackets.

25. Maybe he's a defense attorney.
You know, the one who occasionally has to advocate for a criminal.

Which would probably explain why he's not condemning Bush.

24. It's different because he CREATED THE PROBLEMS!
If you start wars, cause a recession and generally fuck up the country...then it looks really, really bad to then go out and dick around on the ranch, or to spend inordinate amounts of time on stupid crap.

If you are trying to FIX problems created by someone ELSE, then people will tend to give you a break when you take some downtime.

I can't guarentee anything. I think since the games are early there is still time.
