1. I'd Rather It be Dave Letterman....
Seeing as Jay Leno is a conservative ass who openly supported Mike Huckabee in the primaries while Letter is very candid about his disapproval of the Bush Administration, John McCain, and the Republican party in general!

Ahh I'll be torn between Dave and Conan though when he takes over!

2. It's Jay Leno who just moved his showtime. He needs his audience,
and some new viewers. He's hoping the President will do that for him.
Barack Obama wants to get his message out, unfiltered.
That works for them, and it works for us.

3. Yeah I like Letterman a lot more too for the same reasons but
Leno isn't a total right wing hack like Dennis Miller.

Leno has a sense of humor and doesn't take himself too seriously or have that sense of arrogance and entitlement that guys like Miller do who bash Obama and Democrats and Leno did go after Bush although not to the degree that Letterman has.

I don't agree with Leno but I have to have some respect for him not being a totally arrogant entitled jerk. For that matter I had a better opinion of Huckabee than all the other GOP candidates this cycle for similar reasons, he didn't come across as the typical arrogant entitled Republican prick who thought he had a monopoly on virtue and the truth. To some extent I can have a certain degree of respect for some Republicans when they have some humilty and a sense of humor - even if I disagree with their politics and will work to see them defeated come election time.

In any event it would be hard for Obama to appear on the Letterman show while he is touring California since Letterman is filmed in NYC. I'm sure he'll show up on Letterman soon to keep things even.

6. He's doing Leno because he'll be out there and Leno has a wider audience.
