Today's RW Spaghetti (as flung at the wall oin Joey the Scar's hot air emporium):
Erin Burnett just flung mostaccioli against the wall that would make any RW Big-Bidness-is-God type proud. Did you all know that unemployed people choose to remain unemployed untill they have collected all of their unemployement? And....da-da-da...this is a HUGE cost to business' bottom line. Sounds like the beginnings of a campaign to do away with uemployment benefits to me.

Let's see if that chunk of pasta sticks and grows penicillin.

1. Sounds like a card
in the house being built by the governors who want to reject money earmarked to extend unemployment benefits in their states.

3. I know people who do and I know people who don't...
...either way - they paid the premium for their unemployment insurance and are entitled to use it.

4. It is an attempt to make UI appear as "welfare"...
another way to stir the pot.

Some do take the system to the limit, that happens in just about everything in society, but when there are no jobs, and it is so obvious there are no jobs, this "argument" is moot.

The purpose of this is to limit UI, thereby dropping the # of "officially" unemployed people and that makes it look like the economy is on the upswing. For many a year, the only ones counted as "unemployed" were those who are collecting benefits at a given time. The # can be exponentially much higher when beneficiaries are not the only individuals counted. A few have taken the "true" percentage of under/unemployed at closer to 15-17%...which is a serious disaster waiting in the wings.

5. Obviously the needier you are the more rich people suffer
Why can't the needy just get a clue and suck it up and stop bleeding businesses and the wealthy?! You wanna work? OK! Work for the upper class. Be servants, gardeners, butlers, housekeepers, and chauffeurs and in business work for minimum wage and no healthcare. Oh! And no pension or retirement crap either. That's just plain greedy. If you gotta live off the tit of the wealthy you might as well make yourself useful to them.

(/bitter sarcasm)

11. Burnett is such a right-wing shill
I loved it on Real Time last week when she was spouting GOP talking points about Obama's 'war on wealth' and Bill Maher said it was all BS.

12. I have no use for her ever since she spewed absurd nonsense about China regarding tainted imports..
"A lot of people like to say, scaremonger about China, right? A lot of politicians and I know you talk about that issue all the time. I think people should be careful what they wish for on China -- you know, if China were to revalue its currency, or China is to start making, say, toys that don't have lead in them, or food that isn't poisonous, their costs of production are going to go up. And that means prices at Walmart, here in the United States, are going to go up too," she told Hardball's audience Friday. "So, I would say China is our greatest friend right now. They're keeping prices low, and they're keeping prices for mortgages low too."

WTF kind of idiot goes on a national TV program and not only defends imported poisoned food and lead-soaked toys but says we should be grateful for them.

I am not at all surprised that she made ridiculous comments about those on unemployment. She is an ass of the highest order as far as I am concerned. That she is allowed anywhere near a microphone to discuss financial matters is what surprises me.
