Lay Off the Gray

Lay Off the Gray

Give me a f-ing break.

The cover of the New York Times has an article about the fact that President Obama's hair has started to turn gray! Are we really so deluded, see many of my past posts, that we are focusing even one inch of a column of this venerable institution, the New York Times as well as every other outlet, Huffpost included, on the president's hair color? Gray happens ( see below, the first stop on the Googlepedia, a children's health website called Kidshealth. Might want to bookmark and read it). I know that gray happens. I stopped trying to change the course of my hair color/heredity years ago and have been trying to focus on changing the things I can, personal relationships, my health, my heart, my mind, my carbon footprint and yes, in this quicksand economy, my spending habits. The president has been handed the most difficult set of circumstances in perhaps our nation's history and we are talking about his hair. Hair? Who cares?

Dip your hand into the hat and pull up another slip of paper.

Education
Health Care
Environment
Drugs
Addiction
Diabetes
Crime
Elder care

Pick one and read/write about it. There are heroes everywhere and villains a plenty to fill our newsprint. There are stories that will make us all shift our consciousness like only great writing can and yet we focus on the mundane, banal, trivial.

Look in the mirror. You are the root of the problem ( excuse the pun).

Focus, people.

Don't slide down the gray scale. Resist the dark ( probably dyed ) side.

Come into the light.

1. Ok, I must have missed something. Obama's hair color is now
a matter for the editorial pages?

4. It's not progress to report on men as women are treated by the press. Who cares?
He's in his late '40s.

It looks fine.

5. The point is, why-one month into his presidency-is his hair even
an issue? There are quite a few other things to obsess over.

6. I noticed it the campaign. The Wash Post 'style' section covers this minutia.
I think that's how you spell 'minutia'.

10. That's the point. What IS the big deal and why is every
talking head bringing it up instead of a topic that actually matters?

8. Jamie Lee Curtis has morphed into a bitter old GOP/spotlight lovin' ASS CLOWN.

You should hear how she smoozes about ArNold. :eyes:

She's trying to make herself relevant and it's not working.

9. GOP? I don't think so.
So she likes Arnold. They're probably friends as they've been in movies together. So what?

She's hardly a member of the GOP.

Did you even bother to read what she wrote? Nevermind. I don't care.

11. Read some of her comments during the Bush Junta. She's not the same as she was

during her "Trading Spaces" and "A Fish Called Wanda" movie making days.

I think she has what many faded stars have to much of: An over-enlarged ego and a desire to stay in the spotlight.

But so many people FLOCK to celebrity. She's just too malleable to be trusted.

You don't like her do you? LOL!!

I don't know much about her past but she was a big Obama supporter. We need as many voices as we can get!

18. No, and it shows. She was supporting Arnold S. during his run for Governor.
She just "bugs me" and I think her behavior over the past decade is, at a minimum, duplicitous. But no, you're right it's partly "a personality thing." So to those who like her, "have at it!" :-)

21. Thanks, it's not fair to them but it's just something in the overall aura
and/or chemistry of the person that "turns you off."

Too funny. At least we're honest with ourselves and others. I've have people who worked for me that gave me that negative vibe with their personality, but I did try "very hard" not to hurt their career ONLY to have them transferred.

16. My hair's going gray and I'm younger than the President
It's the least of my worries at the moment though. I would never dye it, but I might shave it all off again if I get sick of looking at it.

19. Sometimes our country can
be so shallow on the things they in the "media" think is worthy of writing about.. And, when is the last time the newsmedia has actually come up with something really important to help our country?

All I know about them is they gave us 8 years of bush and the War on Iraq..without them propping up bush and "The March to War" instead of exposing the bush family and investigating the lies bush told about the lead up to bombing Iraq ..Americans wouldn't have stood for it.
