Freepers LIVID that Michael Steele called Limbaugh's CPAC comments incendiary
Edited on Mon Mar-02-09 03:59 AM by Cash_thatswhatiwant
on D.L. Hugley's show.

Comments:

Discouraging, yet not surprising. This is the tact that the left will use in the coming weeks. Every time a Republican politician or strategist goes on the air, the anchor will ask them to denounce Rush’s comments at CPAC. And the unfortunate part is that every one of them will. SPINELESS!!!!
----

What, that America is a great place full of opportunity and hope.
Why is praising the USA ugly.
I am very disappointed, I liked MS. Now it appears he is just like the rest of the Republican cowards.
----

I can't believe the apologists for Steele on this thread.

WHAT HE SAID WAS INEXCUSABLE!

In his high position, he should be trained enough to control his words.....especially when he trashes someone ON OUR OWN SIDE!

Steele has revealed himself.....and the only thing we can do now is vote with our wallets when it comes to donations to the RNC.

He'll probably give the usual portion of OUR money to Snowe, Collins, Spectre and McCain, anyhow.

I'm livid! Was the man drunk?

Leni
----

As Rush has said, we won’t EVER win by trying to out-Liberal the Liberals. In any sane universe, we shouldn’t even be TRYING.

So Dear Mr. Steele, go perform an unnatural act upon yourself. YOU’RE the one who’s not in touch. Not only that, you’re acting against the interests of our party, because if we end up with another pathetic RINO candidate like John McCain we will NEVER, EVER win — and isn’t that YOUR JOB? To actually see that we WIN Something?
----

The Republican party seems to be infected with the same racial guilt that the Bolsheviks on the other side of the aisle have. We keep elevating members of minority groups and calling them consevatives without really properly vetting them. Thomas Sowell is a conservative. Clarence Thomas is a conservative. Walter Williams is a consevative. Deroy Murdock is a conservative. Shelby Steele is a conservative.

Colin Powell is not. Condoleeza Rice is not. And this clown, Michael Steele, is definitely, not.

Until we purge ourselves of our racial guilt we are going to continue to attribute to these RINOs conservative values which they DO NOT HAVE. No more “affirmative action” conservatives. They are all RINOs.

PS I think we’re in danger of doing the same thing with Governor Palin as a result of gender guilt. I mostly like what I’ve heard from Governor Palin but not all (Wall St. greed, etc.) I don’t know how much of what she said during the campaign was McCain-speak and how much of it was the Governor. She needs to be vetted just like this clown, Steele, should have been.

PSS By the way Mr.Steele you condescendingly put down Rush as simply “an entertainer”. What the hell do you think DL Hughley is?
----

It is past time for all conservatives to leave the Republican party behind, and, as difficult as it may be for some, reach some consensus to support a third party that supports the Constitution of the United States and the Republic unequivically. Any so called Republican that has not historically embraced the doctrine of conservatism in words or deeds needs to stay with the carcass of the old elephant. This nation can no longer endure the bickering and blind loyalty to persons rather than doctrine that has brought us to this Marxist president.
----

Dump Steele! What is he thinking? Spineless RINO!

I apologize for ever voicing my approval of this coward.

He can take his "Hip-Hop GOP"... we go with Rush!
----

Steele can kiss my butt...I hadn't formed an opinion about him until now.

He's another RINO loser POS!
----

Rush disagrees with Newt. Steele picks a fight with Rush. Do we have a cohesive political party here? No. But we knew that.

Steele clearly doesn’t identify with conservative values, as least in public. Newt’s time has come and gone but his essential philosophy is still good. I support Rush’s viewpoints fully, but he will never be a candidate for anything nor should he be.

Steele doesn’t seem to fit with true Conservatives. He and McCain can keep the GOP. We need a Conservative Party that believes in both Rush’s evangelism and Newt’s policy fundamentals.

Can either Romney or Palin fill this role? At this moment I have my doubts.

We need new Conservative blood. Where could it possibly come from?

1. May I ask a question...
What is this obsession with freeperville on this site all of a sudden? Seriously. This must be like the 8th thread, this weekend alone, I've seen quoting crap from freerepublic as though it's news. It's not.

It's not important. They have no sense and I'm sure the SS is monitoring everything they say. I realise for some that it's hilarious...however I don't find them funny and they've established themselves as imploding on all fronts. Why then do we care so much and so many posters are quoting them and what makes it worse is that they're linked to us and thus giving them stupid traffic.

At this point the President is being slowly hijacked by freeper stupidity.

18. The irony makes me smile...
What I always wonder is why do people actually take the time and energy to post about how stupid or wasteful or repetitive or boring or tiresome certain threads/topics are.

Don't get me wrong...I'm not trying to be rude or anything.

I just find it ironic that someone will open up a thread that, nine times ouf of ten, is self-descriptive (so there's no surprise about the content) knowing that there have been ten or twelve other clones in a certain timeframe, then actually expend time and effort replying in it, even it it's only to point out how repetitive, boring, stupid, or wasteful it is.

Does it cost anything to push the "back" button and refrain from replying?

Hey, people can do what they like, as far as I'm concerned. It just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me to post in threads that one finds boring or stupid or repetitive...

PS...I like the Freeper threads because they're entertaining. And yes, I'll be the first to admit...I have no life.

10. Freeperville is interesting because
it presents us with what is wrong with the Repuke Party and why they don't have any leadership. Rush Limbaugh IS the head of the GOP as it stands today.

The Repukes with brains (the one or two) understand that in order to compete and win VOTES, the GOP has to move from the nutbag right more toward the center. Electing Steele as head of the RNC was a gesture in that direction.

But Limbaugh, who is the biggest MOUTHPIECE for the Repukes, represents the nutbag right.

This is a war for control of the GOP and I'm loving it.

13. They do...how do I know?!
I had started a thread on Michelle Obama's dress back in September/October and my thread was actually singled out since a person provided the link. And they quoted me and several other posters. So yes, they do come here and quote us and mock us. Which is one of the reasons why I'm wondering why we bother. It's just becoming ridiculously circular.

14. Well, *I* enjoy reading them.
You are free to not open the threads, are you not? What is the point of telling the rest of us what to read and post? Are you the police?

2. personally I enjoy the freeper threads...
I have suffered for years at freeper hands...surrounded by them in this pathetic rural hell. Had the misfortune of working for a boatload of them in my last job. I enjoy watching their teeny pinheads implode.

4. Which of Limbaugh's CPAC comments were incendiary?
I started to read his CPAC speech, but it is long and not very interesting. What did he say that required an apology?

15. They seem to hate almost everyone in their own party.
They hate bush (now). They hate McCain (now). They hate Steele (as in this thread). They hate the republican senators from the northeast. So - that covers their most recent president, their most recent presidential candidate, the head of their national committee, and their only senators holding positions in line with the American public. They hate 'em all!

And who do they love? You know the list: Limbaugh, Palin, and Joe the Plumber. A gasbag, an airhead, and a nobody. Holy criminy. This is one confused, wacked-out set of folks!

20. IMO, actually watching the clip totally deflates this issue.
Steele comes across to me like he's defending Limbaugh rather than calling him out. The "incendiary" remark appears to be tossed in as an afterthought to further reinforce his greater point that Limbaugh isn't the leader of the party. I could still see room for the right to be upset with Steele by reducing Limbaugh to just-entertainer status (which of course he is), but beyond that I don't see anything that would make them upset.

TBH, I'm more upset with Hughley attempting to legitimize Steele towards the end of the clip.
