Marine One blueprints and avionics leaked to Iran through peer-to-peer network
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Marine_One_blueprints_and_avionics_leaked_0228.html

Thanks to a defense contractor's errant use of a peer-to-peer file-sharing network, President Obama's helicopter may not be as safe as it looks.

A Pittsburgh-area company that monitors peer-to-peer networks accessed with file-sharing software like LimeWire and Napster says it has identified a potentially serious security breach involving Marine One and an IP address in Tehran, Iran.

1. Call me a tin foil hat guy but
There was talk of scrapping the billions that were being planned for a new fleet of Marine Ones....you don't think a defense contractor would leak top secret information to Iran so that they could keep their planned billion dollar project do you? I mean those guys always look at for the interest of the country :sarcasm:

:tinfoilhat:

2. Gee how convent that would be
If Obama was killed in a chopper crash due to mechanical failure and they could pin it on Iran.
Another good reason for a another war in the middle east...litteraly killing two birds with one stone.

But I am sure it was just a "mistake" by that defense contractor and the responsible individual will be promoted out of that job.

3. The timing right after they announced they were reviewing
Edited on Sun Mar-01-09 08:52 AM by AllentownJake
the multi-billion dollar planned purchase of 28 new Marine ones is rich too.

The administration announces they are going to scale or eliminate that project and only a few days later behold the Iranians have the top secret plans to the current helicopter.

So in reality its 3 birds.

5. Point well taken.
The problem with whacking Obama is that Joe Biden would then take his place....perhaps not much of a gain for them. Perhaps a fat contract would soothe the hurt.

6. They'd have another LBJ situation
Edited on Sun Mar-01-09 10:34 AM by AllentownJake
They got Vietnam but they also got Medicare, civil rights, and welfare.

The difference between now and than is they wouldn't get another war out of the deal.

Also Biden and Obama actually like each other and agree 99% of the time. That wasn't the case in 1963.

8. And all of that scares the shit out of them.
And that is a good thing...I hope it makes them think twice.

9. They are adopting the Clinton strategy
Attack the President in any way they can and obstruct legislation and budgets. Try to turn Obama into a negative politically.

11. I think about that too and the only thing I can come up with is that it works.
If something still works then why go onto things like torrents public/private.

7. Well, why isn't anyone being charged with treason?

They can track you down for buying pot or porn, but can't find an anthrax terrorist or someone who would leak something like this?

10. I agree. Both the individual and the company should be brought up on charges.
