Tastiest Obama-Lincoln Comparison Ever
Tastiest Obama-Lincoln Comparison Ever

Barack Obama and Abraham Lincoln, in cupcake form, at the Smithsonian American
Art Museum on Saturday.

More than 5,600 cupcakes were used.

4. The way you are going you will
likely end up with 5600 hearts. If so will you promise to design pastel heart portraits of Obama and Lincoln?

6. How do they DO that??? They MUST have guides of some sort (paintings?) to know
where to put all those yummy cupcakes! O/T-I heard a "Lincoln expert" say Lincoln had a high-pitched voice, nothing at ALL like Obama's. I can't imagine Lincoln having the type of voice he was describing.

10. Take a picture, put it through a shaded pixelization filter, print, use it as a guideline.

And yeah, contemporary sources say Lincoln had a nasal, high-pitched voice, and a rough backwoods twang. He was fortunate to live in his day and not ours; an ugly, awkward, clumsy hick (with fewer social graces than Dubya*) from a radical third party would not go far in politics today. Really, there was only one moment in history where Lincoln had a chance, and thank God he was there to take it.

*Lincoln absolutely scandalized Washington by wearing black gloves instead of white gloves to the theater shortly after his inauguration.

12. It almost looked like the printed sheet was cut out into individual cupcakes and put on the
top of each one. The colors seem way too true to be created with frosting.

13. I only count six colors of "pixel": red, black, dark brown, medium brown, tan, and white.
The finished image is pointillism in action.

That combines two of my favorite things on Earth! And I thought I was doing good today buying the Obama "commemorative" Life magazine and getting a two for one special on the Valentine's cupcakes at the grocery store!
