23. The GOP has only ever been really interested in tax cuts for ...
... the wealthy, and never anyone else. If the GOP ever seemed to be supporting tax cuts for the middle class and the poor... it was only window dressing for the much bigger agenda of massive tax cuts for the rich. That's why the large tax cut for the middle class this time means absolutely nothing to them... nothing at all.
They voted for the Bush Wealthy tax cuts, but don't seem to give a damn for the Middle Class.....the folks who need the most help and number the largest as a voting bloc!
The third one they should just stop thinking about so much. Manage you own life the way you choose and leave everyone else the fuck alone. What a surprise that they don't seem to care much about all the myriad other ways REAL people die every day in the world. Nutbaskets all of them!
8. is this actually true? i thought the shrub tax cuts for the uber-rich was $1.3 trillion.
i'm not sure which is worse. voting against the biggest tax cut in history, or voting against a more modest tax cut during a time of tremendous need having voted for a larger one in a time of tremendous greed.
...and as they have always done. It's all they know. They are betting that the stimulus will be a huge failure, then they will be right and they'll have better election results in 2010. They gamble with our future. Change has not come to the republican party. The shift from "it's all about me" to "we're in this together" has not effected the republican party.
20. If the stimpack works, the Dems just made themselves a big ol'
cudgel to beat the GOP about the head with in 2010.
"Well, sir/ma'am, you voted against a sweeping stimulus plan that pulled our economy out of the hellhole it fell into...how do you explain that to your constituents?"
21. Rethugligans don't care about us, the little people.
I saw a horrendous documentary about the process of the stimulus bill on Faux news last night. Watched it to laugh at it. The conservative Reps and Senators literally asked conservative bloggers to pick out things in the bill they did not like. It was like they did not even want to read it, they just wanted to complain and nitpick before they even got a chance to really see what was in it.
