So, would anyone like to eat some nice, fresh crow?
I mean, since the White House officially knocked down the reports that Obama requested longer Iraq withdrawal timetables as being false, I'm sure all the people here who lost their minds over those rumors are going to admit they were wrong, yeah?

7. Once again we get a harsh reminder that
the corporate media only wants controversary not facts.

And, I know so many people around my town who do not trust them, either.

Fear and Unbalanced.

2. Of course they won't step up to the plate and admit they were wrong.
Besides, they're already desperately trying to find something else to criticize Obama for, or to blame him for.

They're happy as long as they have a few things daily to rant about. Kind of like Fox News.

6. Are you saying we SHOULDN'T be upset
that Bush and Cheeeney aren't rotting in jail with their trials over, convictions won and the key thrown away?

What's the President WAITING for? Sheesh!

He's been President for 22 days now! Why AREN'T all of the troops home already? Why HASN'T world peace been achieved? Why AREN'T we all millionaires by now?

As Gomer Pyle said...(I think) Goorleey! 22 DAYS, DevonRex - That isn't long enough?

14. Heh. I mean, 22 days and everything isn't fixed yet? GWB could have messed everything
up in HALF the time.

4. I'm sure they're scouring Drudge/Politico for a new unsubstantiated report to go nuts over.
Edited on Tue Feb-10-09 02:32 PM by Occam Bandage
Or maybe they'll find that some anti-war protester was denied a private hour-long meeting with Obama, which is a CLEAR SLAP IN THE FACE to the progressive base.

Either way, they'll find something soon enough. Maybe it'll even be grounded in reality.

8. Moral of the story
Never ever doubt Obama. He can do nothing wrong. He can say nothing wrong. Every decision he makes is perfect. If you criticize him, you are just a hater.

Just keep repeating that mantra -- which was sold on eBay by Free Republic. Only the names have been changed.

12. No. The moral of the story is don't believe that the media is ever, ever on your side......

or ever suspect that they don't have an agenda.

The moral of the story is that it isn't President Obama who is naive.

You are posting some extreme justification when we are discussing the wrongness of those buying media lies after all that they have lied about year after year.
Why are you doing that?

13. For sane people, the moral of the story is not to believe every crap article you read.
Take things with a grain of salt until proven one way or the other. Be particularly skeptical of articles with no verifiable sources. Maybe they're right. Maybe they aren't.

Another moral of the story is that SOME people only bash Obama and do it gleefully. Most sane people take THOSE posts with a grain of salt, too.

15. The moral of the story for non-idiots is that unsubstantiated rumors are often false.
You seem to be stuck in a sad little paradigm in which everyone is either For The President On Principle or Against The President On Principle.

20. Moral of the story...
Until certain posters on DU get the exact policies they want, enacted with dictatorial force, the Obama Administration must be a failure.

9. Many of those knee-jerk reactionaries on that other thread seem to have a 9:1 or worse negative
ratio on their posts regarding the President.

However, a list of the "usual suspects" is quickly making itself known regarding the posters here that have pretty much nothing positive to say regarding President Obama.

16. How do we find such a list?
Edited on Tue Feb-10-09 03:42 PM by Numba6
I'm new here, but am interested in using the "ignore" function wisely.

I'm only interested in "ignoring" those who not only have a knee jerk impulse to bash Obama, but especially those who revel in their impulses

I think the "ignore" function will improve the board nicely this way

I just don't want to be TOO quick to ignore people, so I just don't want to blanket ignore everyone who replied in such a remarkable way in the thread noted in reply 1

I can't believe some of the people's bashing of Obama in that thread, like "Change you can die for." That's straight from Sean Hannity country, IMHO, and tries to claim that Obama's responsible for Bush's war (& Bush's recession, etc.)

Edited on Tue Feb-10-09 05:29 PM by Numba6
1. 4#s said there was a list

2. As I said, Ignore them

3. What the hell is the ignore button for if not to ignore mindless little critics who delight in mischaracterizing other's posts and will never be satisfied?

But I'm new here, I don't want to banish forever someone on just one rude and snide comment attacking Obama.

4. But I will in extreme cases. try pm'ing me now & see how the ignore button is used.

17. I'll wait for the 16 months.
If after 16 months, the USA has withdrawn all combat troops and turned the permanent bases over to the Iraqis, I will gladly eat crow.

OTOH, if after 16 months the USA STILL has combat troops stationed at permanent bases inside Iraq, will YOU eat crow?
I'll be serving.
