Huckabee says stimulus is 'anti-religious'
Republican Mike Huckabee, the once and future presidential candidate, is telling supporters that President Obama's stimulus package is anti-religious.

Why? Because it bans the use of higher education construction grants to modernize, renovate or repair facilities "used for sectarian instruction, religious worship … or a school or department of divinity; or in which a substantial portion of the functions of the facilities are subsumed in a religious mission."

I'd call it pro-First Amendment myself.

cold, and in total dispair, right Huckabee?

Yer nothin' but a f*cking ingorant hillbilly. Go away.

Separation of church and state...it's in the Constitution. There's a reason for it being there.

He didn't forget, he just disregards it altogether.

Those are institutions that don't pay the taxes that will be paying for whatever the bill pays for, right?

Weird.

17. Repukes passed a bill containing THE IDENTICAL LANGUAGE in 2006.
Edited on Tue Feb-10-09 06:53 PM by 11 Bravo
An amendment to the Older Americans Act of 2006 (H. R. 6197), sponsored by a half dozen or so Repugs, and containing the exact same language that Chucklenuts is whining about, was passed by a Repug-controlled Congress and signed into law by the jug-eared little prick on October 17, 2006.
Huckabee is a hypocritical dipshit.

18. As it should be! Government SHOULD be anti-religious!
That's how the founding fathers started it, and how it should remain!

If Huckabee and his religious zealots want government monies, let them start paying taxes like the rest of us! There is no way I want my tax dollars going to an organization that does NOT teach proper science, and instead teaches HATE!!!

19. I think you and Huckabee are both wrong.
Government should be irreligious, not anti-religious. I don't want the state promoting the idea that religion is false any more than I want it promoting the idea that it is true.

And not spending money on promoting religion isn't anti-religious, it's just irreligious.
