Great line and tribute to Helen Thomas.

Now talking about the safe havens in Pakistan. Amb. Holbrook's role will be to deliver a message to Pakistan that they are endangered by those safe havens as much as we have. (If you've studied the region, you know this is the case, as the natives of that area are being intimidated by the Taliban, who come from a different sect of Islam than the natives.)

71. I disagree, it is a brilliant strategy to treat the more well-known blogs...
with respect, it says to the corporate media that they are NO longer the only ones in control of the message and it also shows the public, imo, that going to online blogs for news, etc., another way of getting the facts, news, etc.

President Obama is DEFINITELY working in the Twenty-first century in terms of REAL change.

58. Smart answer to the Huffington Post guy
Nobody is above the law--clear incidences of wrongdoing people should be prosecuted like ordinary people.

He's rightly talking about looking ahead and not commenting on Leahey's proposal--but take heed in the statement above. It gave me the impression that he will let prosecutions take place, but won't be leading the charge, so to speak.

It will ruin a few things for you if you watch the episodes that are on TV now. I had that problem because I started watching season 1 after seeing a few episodes of season 4. I didn't know who the mole was at CTU in season 1, but I knew who the mole wasn't, and I knew something else about the end. So I strongly encourage you to finish season 1 first.

81. His whole "let's work together, just don't bring me the same failed policies" is a great msg
If the republican party is more evolved four years from now, they'll have Obama to thank for it.

75. Yeah. Why do we need more bipartisanship?
What we need is Minnesota's junior Senator seated.

Edited on Mon Feb-09-09 09:02 PM by Clio the Leo
... wonder why he goes into the Blue room? Why does he not just go down the hall and up the elevator or up the stairs and go "home."

Weird.

And where was the Marine standing in the hallway?

97. Call It What You Will... But By Playing It Cool & Up The Middle, You Leave A Door
open to come in the BACK door makes sense to me, but the question is.... IS that what's happening?? Regardless, we have a President who is keeping them guessing. Even the Pundits and many posting here, my opinion is that he's playing the game pretty well.

Letting the Repukes CARP for days now and making Americans FOCUS on some reality, some seem to think they're willing to gamble by 67% on what is being offered. Maybe some have decided to "pay some attention" to REALITY in their world, I think making people think is GOOD!

I'm a liberal boomer... REALLY, but I have come to realize that I'm also "my generation" versus the new/real generation of today and it may be we can try to be open minded by a new way of perceiving of how you get there. My daughter and I are planning a quick trip to San Fran because she recently visited and got blown away. She was looking to re-connect about my experiences of the 70's, which I KNEW wasn't the same, but she came away with HER perception of what it is today. So I told her SHE could plan the whole trip and what she wanted to re-visit, because her perception and what I remembered would probably mesh in many ways, but on a different level. Obama is my passing of the torch in many ways as it was my parent's way of HAVING to accept "my generation!"

Huge PROBLEMS... we need to stick together!!
