How about "decreasing welfare"? Or "making everyone pay their fair share?" Any better ideas? :) Ida

3. Your patriotic duty
I like "paying your fair share." Also, "contributing to our democracy." "Don't ask what your country can do for you" is a pretty good line, too. "Don't be a greedhead."

We are a credit card nation and we can no longer afford the interest.

6. tax cuts a la bush are really "revenue shifting"
They're just shifting from the feds to the state and municipialities.

9. Uh...
What do you mean, "tax cuts = bad words?"

Tax cuts at this point, with the immense deficit and even worse debt, aren't bad words - they're betrayal of our children's interests, plain and simple.

I'd call 'em budget busters - because that's what they are and they're even designed by the Junta to be just that: a means to strangle "the beast of government" and chop it down into irrelevance or "small enough to drown it in the bath tub."

The gangsters.

10. "Budget busters" = better!
Every time people say stuff like "Kerry is going to reverse *'s tax cuts" it sounds terrible (because tax cuts are NICE things, but that's not what these really are). So "Kerry reversing the budget busters" sounds good, but still not 100% for me....

13. Not 'reversing' but 'defusing the budget busters' instead
It's explosive stuff... Send John Kerry as the Budget Bomb Buster!

12. Talk about **who is getting** the tax cuts, instead of "tax cuts".
Because most folks aren't getting tax cuts under the GOP plan. Only a few at the very top are. The rest of us get a small cut in one spot and a big increase elsewhere.
