1. He was quite a gentleman. I was shocked!!! Punk boy
Matt Lauer could learn from Dobbs' example. Lou asked responsible questions --but the tone of the discussion was very civilized and he even lauded her for her effort! I'm impressed. And I haven't watched the cable blather shows in weeks because I'm weening myself off of them (they're all so trite, sanctimonious and silly).

6. Lou brought up one of the biggest scams the WH has pulled
Talking to Ms K, he said that, to him, one of the most explosive things in the book was stuff in her intro about the Presidential Order that sealed poppy's and jr's presidential/goober-natorial records.

Lou went on to say that meant Iran-Contra, Gulf War etc were unavailable.

He said this was, in his estimation, a blockbuster and was un-American.
:wow:

Kitty also thanked him for being the only TV news person who has not caved under pressure from the WH!!!!
:wow:

I just called CNN's comment line and sent comments via the email.

I want someone to get on this story!
Why go through the order and hiding of this stuff unless you have something to hide?

2. With Kitt gloves..... very nice, polite, and he proved to her
that he had read the book by stating what he felt about poppy after reading it..... Lou is a REAL American. We need more people on the networks like him.

3. it was great. she almost had tears in her eyes because he
had not only read it but approved of it as a serious enough book to make a difference. he had deeper thoughts about old man bush, whom he disdains now more so because of what she wrote. Said the big revelation for him was the fact that they have sealed all their records. Unamerican, he called it. Lovely interview. Good stuff.

7. Awww, nice for Kitty to be given a break. Her book have always
been considered sensational but credible. She never went up against anything the * crime machine, before now that is.

11. the sealed records
and how it is unprecedented and as Dobb's said "unamerican" was also the major issue in John Dean's book "Worse Than Watergate".

13. They were FLIRTING like crazy, I thought.
Edited on Wed Sep-15-04 06:44 PM by tjdee
Is Lou married, because I thought he was lookin at her strangely....and she was giving him smiles and complimenting him...

I was suprised at how nice he was with her--and he focused on the sealing of records instead of the coke and pot stuff. Called it UnAmerican. Again, I was surprised but agreed (duh).

Maybe they weren't flirting, maybe that's what an interview looks like when people have basic respect for each other??

edited to add--
Plus he read the book. And it's a long book.
Lots of time reporters don't have time/or just don't read the book before questioning.
I was pleasantly surprised by that too.

21. Yes, indeed, AWESOME!
I took the words right out of your mouth. I love Lou. He is one brave, brave, newscaster, and one of the few left I call "newscaster". Usually I use the term talking head. Lou makes a big difference in all our lives. I am glad he is now being appreciated. I can remember when he wasn't, on here at least. Lou Dobbs = Great American.

18. I'm going to have to catch the repeat tonight.
That sounds too good to miss. I must say, I'm SHOCKED!

Not only did the Bush's have all their records sealed, but they put the word out to EVERYONE not to talk to Kitty. It took her 2 years, 17 letters, 42 phone calls and a lawyer to get papers filed under the FOIA on a Bush family member, James Smith Bush, who has been dead over 25 YEARS!

They put up roadblocks at every turn. I applaude her for finishing this book. These Bush people are evil.

20. Sign of a mature mind - when someone spots the more important issue:
sealed papers -refusal to make government paid employee records public. This is the more important issue over time.
