LOL. Palin stiffs the House Republicans
ABC News' Jonathan Karl reports: When House Republicans planned their annual winter retreat, they extended an invitation to Alaska Gov. Sara Palin, hoping the party's 2008 vice presidential nominee would give a morale-building speech to the more than 130 Republican members of Congress gathered this weekend in Hot Springs, Va.

Retreat organizers tell ABC News that Palin politely declined, giving a perfectly understandable reason. According to the Congressional Institute, which hosted the conference, Palin said she simply could not make it to the retreat because pressing state business made it impossible for her to leave Alaska this weekend.

So where is Palin this weekend? She's in Washington, D.C., attending the super-elite Alfalfa Dinner.

"She lied to us," said a Republican at the retreat.

Well, she certainly stiffs the freepers! No surprise, haven't seen this posted at FR yet. They don't get that Sarah is all about Sarah.

PERFECT!!

ETA:
Asked about Palin's no-show, House Republican leader John Boehner shrugged.

"Whatever," Boehner said.

Thats the one thing that binds them all together. Each one is all about himself/herself.

But of course, if there is a thierself/yourself conflict, such as her going to speak or the alfalfa dinner, your a massive a-hole. But sarah is just being sarah.

I want the republicans to tell me how they can justify a retreat at a 5 star hotel (The Homestead-ie, mega bucks!). I also want them to tell me how much this little adventure costs and who's footing the bill. If it's the taxpayers, I am going to be more than just a little pisssed. I'm from that area, and most of us could barely afford to drive by the grounds, much less stay there. Seems to me that somebody isn't taking the economy very seriously.

29. I really don't think Sarah has much regard
for the "Republican Party." She rose to power here by seeming to challenge the "old-style" Republicans, and, in fact, some of her harshest critics were and continue to be members of her own party. It doesn't surprise me in the least that she would choose the dinner over the RNC, especially because (at least before she was nominated for VP) she expressed admiration for Obama. That's what was so shocking to us here in Alaska when she went all "attack dog" on the campaign trail.

Now she's really in a bind because she can't backtrack and be bipartisan and cooperative without looking like a major hypocrite to both sides.

And, of course, blatantly lying doesn't help.

30. And meeting/dining with the guy who helped with chimpass' and Mclame's campaign
http://www.themudflats.net/2009/01/28/sarahs-weekend-away/#comments

There’s lots of speculation about what exactly our governor will be doing this weekend. Here’s the scoop, straight from the governor’s office.

Friday evening, the governor will be dining with Fred and Marlene Malek. Mr. Malek is a “prominent business leader” and like most prominent business leaders who invite politicians over for swanky private dinners, there’s more than first meets the eye.

------------------------------

Sounds like the **repukes** need to start reading Mudflats to find out about what Palin is doing/lying about..they would have known a while back about her real weekend plans.

I know some Du'ers get tired of reading about her..but look at it this way..if you read/save it NOW, come 2012 when she and her cronies scrub the 'Net of all of her misdoings between now and then, you'll have plenty of links/sites to prove just how full of shit she is if she does run in 2012.

Does this not strengthen her rep as being "all outsidery" and against the Washinton establishment? Wouldn't it be BETTER if she were "pallin' around with" the very people she was bashing four months ago?

34. Because ....
As much as being an 'outsider' seems to be a positive, it is simply a ruse, and always has been ...

She cannot develop a strong national campaign without courting the 'inside the beltway' republicans she has apparently forsaken .... There is always the possibility she could just steamroll into 2012, but I have strong doubts she can bring a 'peasants with pitchforks' movement to the national polity in 2012 that would overcome the need to enjoin the GOP caucus ....

If one compares one to the other, one might conclude that being an 'outsider' is not going to be a big plus in 4 years .... I think she made a mistake here ....
