Palin wants stimulus from Obama's package
The 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, scheduled meetings in Washington this weekend with Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and other senators to press for her state's share of the package.

I'm just sure she really really didn't want to go
..........

Palin to attend Alfalfa Club Dinner (President Obama Will Be There Too)

January 29, 2009 8:15 AM

Washington DC's elite Alfalfa Club has only 200 or so members, mostly drawn from the worlds of business and politics (and specifically not from journalism).

Since 1913, the club has feted various leaders and jokingly nominated its own presidential candidates in an annual booze-and-giggles off-the-record black-tie dinner.

President George W. Bush attended the Alfalfa Club dinner every year of his presidency. And President Obama will be there Saturday night.

One other guest? Yesterday in Juneau, Alaska, Gov. Sarah Palin told reporters should would be there. Strictly as an advocate for Alaska, of course.

“The Alfalfa dinner, yes, in fact that’s because President Obama is scheduled to be there," Palin said. "And how often will I have an opportunity to have dinner with the president? I will take up that offer to do so."

14. The horror! Palin's fans must be up in arms - NOT.
The woman is clearly trying to position herself for a 2012 run against President Obama (you can stop laughing now).

SarahPAC, Alfalfa Club dining...

Yup. She's going to run in 2012 just like some talking heads have been predicting ever since she made known she's attending the Alfalfa Club dinner.

The woman is such a fraud.

7. She needs about $5000.00 a year for every person in Alaska...
...so she can continue to purchase enough popularity to be re-elected in 2010.

With lower per-barrel oil prices poor little Sarah is going to have a hard time finding enough cash to keep her 'thing' going.

11. As I understand it the Alaska state budget assumes $75 a barrel oil
or was it $60?

either way they are hurting but then Exxon has tons of cash so maybe Sarah can squeeze them for it again...not that that is something she is supposed to be against mind you

It's pretty easy to be popular when you can propose anything and the guys sitting at the bar say "Fine, I ain't paying for it" and the next guy says "Hell, they are PAYING US!!!" and everyone laughs

16. Alaska citizens will be shouldering the outrageous debt just like the rest of us.
I wonder if we can arrange a law to not give some states any stimulus money and give each of its citizens a cash payment for their share of the exploded national debt.

I'd take it.

33. Hypocrisy is hypocrisy, even in politics.
That you accept her hypocrisy as simply politics makes your "political know how" as faulty as your "pro-women" stance. To support a woman simply because she is a candidate or holds office harms the efforts of qualified women. She sets a bad example.

I want women to hold political office, not because they are women, but because they are qualified human beings. Palin is not qualified and she is a liar and a fraud. Your defense of her makes your support of women to be as faulty as her "small government" stance is hypocritical, imho.

now go be an adult and find another emoticon to use that supports your position.

36. Well, since my undergrad degree is in Political Science, I beg to differ.
I don't agree with Palin's positions on about every issue, but she was no more hypocritical than anyone else running for office. Politics is a game, she just wasn't very good at playing it.

Having said that, Palin was definitely not qualified to be VP. It's mystifying why McCain did not pick a more suitable woman. There are plenty of Republican female politicians who would have been a better choice.

BTW, trying to be objective while judging people is part of being an adult.
