George W. Bush: "Some folks look at me and see a certain swagger
which in Texas is called walking."

Well, George, on the rest of this planet, it's called dragging your knuckles on the ground.

Nonetheless, this is a transparent, hollow man, trying to fill out an empty suit. He's an insult to whatever awareness or intelligence the human species lays claim to.

How almost half of this country can still be considering voting for this vacant shell (being manipulated by his puppet masters) is beyond reason or comprehension.

1. You're from Connecticut, jackass.
Also, when I look at him, I see stupid.

I see the wind whistling over a very quite cornfield.

But, that's just me.

2. This rich kid
who was a cheerleader in College and avoided going to Vietnam thru Daddy's connections likes to talk tough and portray himself as a cowboy with his fake Texas accent, but we know, damn well, that he is a wimp. You could see it on his face when informed "America is under attack" during those 7+ minutes he was probably thinking, "where can I go and hide?" and then they did find a cornfield in Nebraska to hide him at.

3. Even John O'Neill, commander of the sinking

swiftloadofshit boats gang called Shrubya an empty suit. Granted, he

was gamely trying to appear non-partisan, but he said it and it

couldn't have made Shrubby too happy.

4. Others see a lazy, mean-spirited coked-up frat boy asshole
Still others see a nasty little monkey who's never been held accountable for any of the scabby, venal episodes in his spotty little life.

And yes, there are some who see a cowboy who fears horses, a fighter pilot who feared combat and sucked at landing and a self-professed "Christian" who fears the teachings of Jesus.

So, DUers, what do YOU see?

7. Absolutely wrong and boastful and stupid, as usual. The real Texans that
I have known and grown up with are people that help those in need. They do business deals on each other's word. I know that the worse thing my dad could say about anyone was that he/she was a liar. There was no swagger in his step. My Dad would always insist on taking my bags to and from the car when I came to visit, even when he was 80 and had hip trouble and I was perfectly capable of doing it myself. To him, it was the mannerly thing to do. (I'd get around this one by bringing them in when I came and getting them into the car secretly before I said goodbye.). But of course, his family had only been here since the republic so we may not understand that "swagger thing".

28. So true. Texas is full of true gentlemen, and Bush ain't one of them
I lived in Texas for a while and I was deeply impressed with how nice and civil people were there. Nicest people I've ever met anywhere. The men could be the truest, most honorable gentlemen I've ever encountered

15. Growing up in Texas, The people I saw swaggering...
were

a. the lower middle class ranch hands who bunked together and worked from sunup to sundown (and sometimes through the night) on friends' ranches

b. greenhorns who had moved to Texas and fallen in love with the John Wayne movie image of 19th century cowboys.

Jeeps, motorcycles, cell phones, electronic tracking devices, and helicopters are common on ranches today.

Swagger, My Native Texan Ass!

20. I had to laugh at the man who leases the ranch the last time he was in
the house. Here was this man in his work attire of hat (which he REMOVED when he came in) and boots and long sleeve shirt and jeans, talking to me when his cell phone rang and he excused himself and took it out. It looked so little, like something from a teen's purse. What is funny is that we mostly need those large bag phones when we are out on the land but the other works in town. We talked about how we absolutely could not get along without those phones. Cute to see that tiny phone in that large man's hand.
