Obama: Wall Street Bonuses "Shameful"
I like this guy more and more...

President Barack Obama said it was “shameful” for Wall Street chiefs to walk away with $18.4 billion in bonuses last year in the depths of a recession. Leaning his elbows on his knees, with his mouth clenched, Obama lashed out at the executives who were found by the New York state comptroller to have earned the sixth largest bonus haul on record last year.

“That is the height of irresponsibility,” Obama said before a meeting with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. “It is shameful. And part of what we’re going to need is for folks on Wall Street who are asking for help to show some restraint, and show some discipline and show some sense of responsibility.”

It was the second time in one week that Obama found his job of supporting assistance for financial firms complicated by the firms themselves. His administration reached out to Citigroup on Monday to scuttle its plans to buy at $50 million corporate jet.

“There will be time for them to get bonuses. Now’s not that time,” he said.

Obama said he intends to send that message to Wall Street and have Geithner do so, too.

2. Would've liked Obama to suggest, or perhaps demand, they give the money back!
