...thinking it's important for conservatives to sign on to the stimulus package. Other wise they use it to beat dems over the head with and gain back seats in congress.

On the other hand we know what's going to work (putting the middle class back to work to get them to spend, making the banks loan smartly) and Obama can point to reThugs for getting in the way of this.

Your take?

Thx

2. Obama is being the Good Cop. Congress is being the Bad Cop. By reaching out to the rePIGlickers he
gets to stand out as a diplomat who wants to get along and do the best for America. Congress is supposed to push the program to the left.
It is a good plan for Obama. I am not sure if is good for US.

3. Repugs are shameless. It doesn't matter what they may sign on to now. They'll disown it in 2010.

They'll beat Dems head with it if it's a flop whether they sign on to it or not.

If it's a success (with or without them) they'll find some other way to trash Dems, and the MSM will unquestioningly let them.

They are determined to bring Obama down one way or another. All that his sucking up to them, and trying to get them on board by throwing bits and pieces of the stimulus plan under the bus until there is nothing left but what they like, is doing is making Obama look like a toothless appeaser.

Obama needs to align his forces and start steamrolling over the Repugs the way Bush steamrolled over Democrats, and he needs to start doing it now, or the Repugs will be dictating everything for another four years.

8. I was thinkin about this question and wondering if Clinton did a stimulus plan that worked in the 90
..90s and why that wasn't used in 94 to gain ever more seats.

Dems have no message discipline but they can't be that anemic when it comes to tooting their own horn

5. I have a theory about this
Obama's White House is chock full of ex-Clintonites, who are paranoid about another 1994 election again, so they are operating with great caution.

6. We have a huge opportunity in '10
We can hold our margin in the House and actually pick up a few Senate seats. '04 was not kind to us.

7. As has been said before. President Obama is playing chess while
the others are playing checkers. He's looking down the road at the big picture..
