DeLay/CNN makes me sick
Ok, CNN is at it again, trying to debunk the memos... in this article it says:

On Tuesday, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas, called on CBS News to say where it got the memos.

"I understand that people want to protect their sources, but we're dealing with the alleged forgery of government documents to influence a presidential race during war," DeLay told reporters. "This isn't politics as usual. It's dangerous and possibly criminal."

Now, I find it FASCINATING that DeLay finds it so important to find the source of these documents, yet he isn't so quick to get a source from Bob Novak regarding the Valerie Plame outing...that wasn't just illegal, but is also a national security threat when our CIA operative's covers are broken.
I also find it sickening that they would put the following from Laura Shrub:

First lady Laura Bush also waded into the controversy over the documents in a radio interview Monday.

"You know, they probably are altered, and they probably are forgeries, and I think that's terrible, really," Laura Bush told Radio Iowa. "That's actually one of the risks you take when you run for public office or when you're in the public eye."

Ok, exactly what credentials does this moron have to determine that they 'probably are forgeries'?? Why would CNN print such an irresponisble statement from someone that has no knowledge of document forgery or signature authentication or vintage typewriters.

This is all making me dizzy...Im going to work now (at my job that is now paying me $2/hr less than 3 yrs ago).

3. Hey Tom!
Quoth the Reptile:
"I understand that people want to protect their sources, but we're dealing with the alleged forgery of government documents to influence a presidential race during war," DeLay told reporters. "This isn't politics as usual. It's dangerous and possibly criminal.

Ya know, you could ALSO say the same about the "Niger Memo"

"I understand that people want to protect their sources, but we're dealing with the alleged forgery of government documents to influence a war during a presidential race."

Pot.
Kettle.
Black.

....Shameless fucks!

6. Really?
The National Guard had typewriters capable of those fonts and superscripting since 1966. I have confirmation of that fact. What confirmation of the converse do you have?

9. You and I were both confused...
On the re-read, I deciphered that the poster meant that he (she) thought it was interesting that Laura Bush used the word "probably" instead of saying "they are altered".

First time through, I thought the poster was making the claim that they were altered.

5. CNN will eventually hit the wall.
It is inevitable that they will, in the foreseeable future, find themselve accountable for their sophistry. In the meantime, is it a wise use of your time to watch them drive into that wall?

I think not. Turn them the hell off and keep them off.

7. I, too understand that people want to protect their sources,
but we're also dealing with CNN's outing of an undercover CIA agane to to influence a presidential race during war. This isn't politics as usual, either--it's a capital crime!
