12. I've never been good with watercolours
Edited on Sun Jan-25-09 10:52 AM by Shiver
I'm far more skilled with oils and acrylics (this is one example - almost six years old, but the only painting I have on this computer). I haven't painted anything worthwhile in almost two years, though... dropping out of art school kind of kills the creative muse for a bit...

Love the paintings! I envy the watahcolah skillz :yourock:

I know NOTHING about art, but I love your use of color. Looking at that painting, you don't need anyone to explain to you how cold it was that morning.

It would be nice to find him and let him know you painted him at one of what's obviously he most important moments of his life.

no, i just took a photo of the tv screen and worked from that. Tv's distort shape and color, so i just went from black and white to the colors
of my imagination.

19. How very beautiful. A fitting companion piece to your painting of Obama.
I have purchased the Obama print from you, and enjoy it every day. Since I was on the mall in Washington on Tuesday (lucky me) this is my first time to see this man. I'm waiting for TIVO'd copies of the inauguration to arrive in the mail, and I'll be looking for him.
Though I like the eyes very much, his mouth speaks of suppressed tears of joy. That's what I like best other than the whole thing.
Thanks for sharing it with us, Mimi.

print was as impressed with the Saluting Man as you, and wants to have it next to it.

When I got my Obama print I was very surprised to see how much more vibrant the color is in reality than in the reproduction here.
I'm so glad you did this !
