"Michelle Taufmann is a member of the Democracy for Illinois steering committee as well as a DFA Meetup host.
Last night I attended the benefit for Democracy for America and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee at the House of Blues in Chicago. It was an incredibly inspiring evening. Governor Dean, surrounded by over 200 supporters, spoke about the "Dean Dozen" and need to support Democratic candidates throughout the country. He emphasized that we need progressive candidates running at all levels of political office, from Library Superintendent on up. In his usual strong, clear, direct manner he once again provided the leadership, hope for real change and marching orders we need to keep working to change the face of politics, establish the debate and to push through the progressive agenda—not only for the November election, but for the long haul."
(Corzine and Durbin appeared among others.)

" Jon Corzine, the head of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, has also been all over the country—from Alaska to North Carolina to Oklahoma and Louisiana—laying the groundwork and doing the hard work of ensuring that the Democratic Party wins back the Senate. It's doable, folks. Senator Corzine urged us not to be discouraged by what we read in the newspaper and hear from polls—the media do not know the real story on the ground in the states with tight Senate races."Dean and Christine Cegelis, running against Henry Hyde.
