I have the strangest feeling that if Edwards were "turned loose"
it could be mighty interesting. The skills of a top notch defense attorney are going to waste holding hands with the soccer moms.
Go get 'em John E.

1. Whats been holding him back??????
He has always shown the "Positive" side. That is who he is. That is partly why he was chosen. Where do you get this "letting him loose?

If he is being "held back", then maybe he should at least give some of us a sample of what he might be like in a fight of OUR LIVES!

2. I agree with you. You don't win trials by just smiling.
However...John has been getting stronger in the last few days. I don't ever expect him to do any screaming like some do, it's just not him. I expect to see some very leathal shots fired with dead center accuracy though. They will be more influential and media worthy BECAUSE Edwards "was never like this!"

4. Saw Edwards in Reno. He was pretty strong.
I haven't seen any word on vice presidential debates. Cheney just seems like such a fish in a barrel. Blasting him in a national debate could do wonders for the campaign. I think Edwards boyishness could be beneficial too because if Cheney comes on too strong it is like he is picking on the young guy, so unless Edwards completely chokes it may be a can't loose situation. Or will Dick need to bring the President with him again to help him talk?

3. I can't speak to something I haven't had much chance to see. Have you seen
so much of him to say that?

10. You are absolutely right.
They will NOT cover Edwards, or Kerry. 10,000 people turned out at 1PM on a weekday in Tuscon to see Edwards and even the local media didn't say boo. This is NOT the fault of the campaign. We will win, but without the media!

6. Funny, I was just thinking this
Edwards has been awful quiet as of late, and I suspect it's simply because the focus has been (sadly) on the military services (or lack thereof in the case of *) of Kerry and *. As such, the aduience for listening to discussions on the economy, education, and health care isn't there; people are listening to the goddamn military lives of Kerry and Bush.
There needs to be a massive refocus towards the issues, because both Edwards and Kerry can pound Bush on that.

7. K/E have to do or say something outlandish, then the media will
all report it! I don't mean the "we'll all die if Shrub is er...given another 4 years". But something true and outside the norm for them.

8. Kerry, to his credit, has been more forceful
I just hope the ex Clinton staffers give Kerry a swift kick in the ass soon...

a campaign strategy that has proved mistaken.

Edwards is simply not a credible ATTACK DOG on War and Terror.

11. CNN did a reprt today on Edwards vs Cheney
Edited on Wed Sep-15-04 12:42 AM by Leilani
They said it was the lion & the lamb.

They showed clips from speeches on the road of both.

They are like night & day.

The few times Edwards has had some strong words, the media has covered it; Cheney gets more coverage because he is more negative, & thus more newsworthy.

Edwards is just not an attack dog, & no one should be surprised by this...he did not attack in the primaries.

13. Lion vs Lamb ????

Not really.

More like Van Helsing vs Dracula.
