Caroline Kennedy "linked" to Arthur Sulzberger?
Edited on Thu Jan-22-09 07:12 PM by nodramamama
When someone here posted a link to a New York Post article on Caroline Kennedy, I noticed that a paragraph spoke about her being "linked" to New York Times' publisher Arthur Sulzberger. In the last update of the article the reference has been deleted, but now I see that NBC in New York is reporting (6th paragraph from top to bottom) that: The New York Post also raised the marriage issue, saying that gossip columns have reported for more than a year that Kennedy's marriage to Schlossberg was essentially over. The Post also pointed out that the gossip site Gawker.com has reported rumors linking her to New York Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger.

Knowing the New York Post I would take this with a huge grain of salt. The NBC shouldn't have spread it either, if there's no concrete evidence to support the allegation.

2. Why on earth would she put herself in the

situation where something like this would get openly discussed, even if it is only a rumor. If it isn't true, all she really would need to do is say it isn't true and I think that would have been the end of it. She is not a stupid woman, so I must say this whole thing is a bit perplexing.

3. Don't you know ONE thing about the NY Post?
Well if you don't, here are a few:
1) The NY Post is NYC's leading fish wrapper.
2) The NY Post is NYC's leading bird cage liner.
3) The NY Post is NYC's leading dog training paper.
4) NOTHING they publish in their gossip columns (page six) is true!
5) The NY Post is NYC's leading fireplace kindling.

4. And if they can smear a Kennedy and someone linked to the NYT at one time
all the better! The Post is a total rag -- I wouldn't
even put it out for my pet to pee on.

9. Be nice to "Mother"
Edited on Thu Jan-22-09 08:14 PM by Baby Snooks
Cindy Adams has been dishing the dirt for awhile in the NY Post and like it or not she's been "right on" with quite a bit of her "gossip" so let's see what "Mother" says. Okay?

And be nice to "Mother." She "let it slip" that Nancy Reagan referred to George W Bush as "the Village Idiot." And whenever anyone asked her about it, including a reporter or two, Nancy Reagan just smiled and said nothing.

As for everyone else, well, Caroline Kennedy already knew what the media was like from the years of speculation about her marriage. Unfortunately she has learned as Princess Diana learned that there is no such thing as a private life when you choose the public life.

She withdrew. The media should just let it be. Unfortunately the media will not let it be. And so she will learn why her mother never spoke to anyone in the media except at the dinner table and did so only with the understanding that if they ever repeated anything they would never be at the same dinner table with her again. People enjoyed her company. So they never repeated anything. Even after she died. According to rumor she was not happy about "George" because in her eyes, her own son had become the enemy. But of course he became his own worst enemy because of course the media went after him every chance they got.

Caroline needs to just ignore everyone the way her mother did and go back to her private life and be content with it and use the position she has in other ways to continue the legacy of her father and her family.

5. Someone tried to bring that up on Hardball, Chris Matthews told
her he didn't deal in gossip in the blogosphere and stick to what she could prove.

10. There are far worse rumors...
And most of them probably will hit the tabloids now. Truly sad.

8. I've heard those rumors. But Gawker is an equal opportunity rumormonger...
on their site they seemed surprised people were taking their claims seriously.
